These chickpeas are the best I've ever tasted! .My local supermarket started stocking these a few months ago but have been temporary out of stock for over a week..I ordered from Bolo and they were delivered following day. I will never go back to the tasteless tinned chick peas.

What I like about this product:✅ Made out of three natural ingredients, with chickpeas making up 97.4%.✅ Italian extra virgin olive oil (2.0%) adds flavour and healthy fats.✅ Sea salt (0.6%) adds just enough to enhance the natural flavours.✅ Jumbo size!✅ Drain free pouches, no mess.✅ Can have them cold in salads, warm in curries, or blended into dips.A few things to keep in mind:⛔ Once opened, they need to be used within 24 hours,⛔ The jumbo size may not be ideal for some.⛔ Preseasoned with olive oil and salt, so may not work with all recipes or for all diets.

You'd expect there would be little difference between different brands of chickpea, I cook with them regularly and never noticed much variation, but these Merchant Gourmet Jumbo Chickpeas are truly different and much better than the average.They are larger than most others I've tried, not huge and the name 'jumbo' is a bit misleading but definitely bigger. However the real difference here is the way they're prepared and packaged, these are pre-cooked until they're quite tender and tossed in olive oil and a little salt - and they're so yummy I could eat them from the pack with a spoon! In fact I've had to stop myself doing that so there would be enough left to add to my recipe.The fact they're already so tender made me worry they'd breakdown and disappear in a soup or slow-cooked stew but some do survive, but you might want to add these later in a recipe if that's possible. For adding to a cold dish or salad or used as a garnish these are already perfect and there's nothing you need do except open the sachet (and hide the spoon). Funny how sometimes the simplest things are the most tasty and moreish. Pricey but really lovely.

These have been great in many recipes, particularly one of my favourites, tuna and chickpea salad. They are ready to go straight from the pack or you can heat them if you prefer.Much better taste than the tinned variety, and they are jumbo in size.I really like this brand and the fact they use premium ingredients with no added nasties or preservatives.This is a pack of six so offers good value for money.I would highly recommend and will buy these in future.

This product comes in a cardboard box; inside the box, you’ll find 6 x 240g packs of chickpeas. As of review, this product is priced at £13.50 - I think this is reasonable and works out at around £2.26 per pack.These chickpeas are not the regular tiny chickpeas we are used to in this country. They are jumbo-sized. If you eat them straight out of the packet, they taste olive oil and salt, which is perfect if you add them to a salad.The batch I received had around just under 2 years of shelf life date on the packet. I like to cut them up with a bit of diced onion added when having boiled potatoes and salad. I have also used them to make chickpea curry, which the larger size of these are perfect for.I recommend this product.
