5.0 out of 5 stars Great home test kit
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } This is a great test kit to help to see if you have a Vitamin D deficiency if so go to see your doctor if you a problem it is easy to use and you get a quick result.
4.0 out of 5 stars Seems to work
Not really easy to workout the level against chart
1.0 out of 5 stars No use whatsoever
Inaccurate results. Insufficient and sufficient are almost identical colour lines on the chart. I used the online system the pack advises to read the line and every time I uploaded a new photo I got a different result ranging from deficient to excess. No clinical use whatsoever.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product quick and easy to use
I have tried other Vit D Home test kits and thrown them away !This one is very consumer-friendly and result in under 8mins,Highly recommendedThank you
2.0 out of 5 stars Test works, but uploading the picture is a nightmare.
The test itself shows you the results as expected. However, uploading the picture for verification was impossible, even when following their instructions exactly. I tried multiple times to take and upload the picture, but kept receiving error messages about an "incorrect picture," despite doing everything as instructed.Honestly, I don’t see how you could do it incorrectly since all the steps are clearly provided. To summarise: the test is fine, but the rest of the process is extremely frustrating and disappointing.
3.0 out of 5 stars Likely an unnecessary test for most people
I was curious how this test worked rather than being worried about my Vitamin D levels. I try to eat healthily and take a 4000 IU Vitamin D pill every day. It depends which "authority" one consults, all seem to suggest a different appropriate daily dose. However it is almost universally accepted we should take some sort of Vitamin D supplement especially through the winter months. 4000 IU is towards the upper end of recommendations and there is a rare but real problem of Vitamin D toxicity.Unboxing the test reveals a "test cassette" far too reminiscent of a Covid test, a small bottle of "Buffer" fluid, and a lancet, a spring device with a small spike to pierce a finger and draw blood. Actually, I received two lancets, probably in case I was too timid the first attempt. An alcohol prep pad is provided to clean the finger tip to be stabbed. There is a thin tube with a rubber bulb on the end, the "capillary dropper". Blood is automatically sucked into the end of the tube and, at the cassette, the bulb must be squeezed to expel the blood into the hole marked "S" for Specimen. Then a couple of drops of the buffer liquid must be added to the hole marked B.After ten minutes, check the result window against the test card images. I had the faintest of lines which means, I think, I have sufficient but not an excess level of Vitamin D. The test card is almost the weakest part of the process. There is very little difference between the images for "Insufficient" and "Sufficient".There is a QR code which, when scanned, eventually leads to "kp Pharma". This is the weakest part of the system. An intrusive registration process is required before being able to upload results. I decided I didn't want to contribute to medical data harvesting and closed it down.My award of three stars derives from the inadequate Colour Card provided for evaluating the test result; especially as this leads to kp Pharma's web site in the hope of getting a clearer answer. I suspect few people really need to use a test like this. Although it is intrinsically interesting I will not bother again.
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good
I ordered the KP Pharma Vitamin D Deficiency Check Test Kit to see where my levels were at, and it was fine for a quick check. The kit comes with everything you need—lancet, dropper, test cassette, and a buffer solution—in a small, simple package. The instructions are clear enough: prick your finger, collect a drop of blood, and wait 10 minutes for the result. It’s nice that it’s CE-certified, so you feel like it’s legit. I got a reading that matched what I suspected—low but not terrible—and it showed up fast. It’s pretty straightforward to use, though the finger prick takes a little effort to get enough blood, and the test line can be faint if your lighting’s not great. The 10-minute result is convenient, no waiting for a lab, and it’s good for a basic snapshot of your vitamin D status. It’s not as precise as a doctor’s test, but for the price, it’s a decent option if you just want to keep an eye on things at home. Works as advertised, nothing more or less.
5.0 out of 5 stars easy to use and understand.
Did this test today and it worked as I expected it to. My result was "sufficient" thankfully but this is a good way to find out if you're lacking vitamin D. The test procedure is relatively simple - open up the test strip packaging, clean your finger with the wipe, remove the lance lid, press it against your finger, it will click and you put a couple drops of the good old red stuff into the hole of the test stick. After that's done, add a couple drops of the buffer solution into the other hole and wait for the results to show up.
