It seems many of the pictures in the reviews show it just after being put in water, so here’s what it looks like after soaking for two days.I have an issue with stalks in most foods (Broccoli being one), so I’ll be honest—I did cut the stalk off before blitzing.It’s easy to blitz, and with the amount you’re adding to a smoothie, I couldn’t really taste a difference except for a slight salty taste. But it’s not like adding a spoonful of salt, nothing that bad. So, it’s adding some extra minerals into the mix, which is all good for me.I do wonder if a powder would be a simpler approach overall, although I did notice they also offer a gel.

This is a great addition to smoothies. Sea Moss has basically 100% of essential minerals your body needs and this is a great natural way to get those minerals that your body needs amongst other things like fibre amino acids omega fats etc. It's basically a superfood. I can't say I'm a fan of the taste of it on it's own as it does taste like seaweed (very salty and just that well seaweedy taste so make sure you wash it thorougly follow the instructions and soak it for 12 to 24 hours before using it this will significantly reduce the salty taste). In the smoothie though I do like it. You can taste the salt but it actually enhances my smoothies. I guess this all depends on what you put in your smoothie but the salty taste actually adds to the flavour of my smoothies. I found it works particular well with Pineapple. It if was a tad cheaper then this would get 5 stars.

First impressions - beautiful packaging, and on opening the box, it smelled so fresh and ozone-y, I wanted to break some off and nibble it, but on reading that it needed to be washed, I defaulted back to the instructions and set to work on my small test batch. I soaked it for a 24 hours, rinsed it then set to work with my hand blender, which whizzed and gnawed on this stuff, but to my amazement, had very little effect. I’ve used this blender on all kinds of things including ice, but it seems to have met it’s match with this gnarly sea Triffid… I pulled a strand out and nibbled it, and it was still very rigid and rubbery, so it may well be that I would need to use my big food processor and blitz it for a longer period of time, but it seems like an awful lot of effort for something that could be sold ready to eat, in a jar, so sadly, I probably wouldn’t order it again.

The quality of the sea moss was very good. It was easy to soak and use in smoothies, or even plain water. The taste of the sea moss was not strong, but the texture was thick. It did not have a strong scent either. Great value for money. When it is purchased dry, it could be used when you want it.

Whilst this might look expensive, it does produce a lot of gel once blended. Instructions are included, but they are straightforward. Soak overnight. Then put in a blender with some water and blend. The gel produced is very thick. I scraped out most of it and then put in some more water and blended that. I mixed this in with the other gel to loosen it up.The gel is quite salty, even after soaking and rinsing. Once you've mixed it in with something else the saltiness is less apparent. The texture is smooth and thick, definitely like the cans of Irish Moss drink I used to be able to get from our corner newsagent years ago. If you want a mineral boost for your smoothie, this is a good option.

This sea moss is very strong and comes in a tall cardboard tube.It comes out is big clumps which are probably far more than you would actually need in one serving.After dunking it in water, it expands quickly and overnight it magically turns back in to some undersea beauty.Take a little of it and blend it up, and there it goes! It's quite salty, so I haven't figured out the best way to eat it yet.
