Item due on 25th arrived on 27th. Otherwise seems ok though being nearly 80 find instructions a bit confusing and It's a neat looking machine.

Here we have the compact, Denver MCA-240 HiFi system with FM radio, CD player and clock and alarm function.It is a really compact and very lightweight thing. The fourth photo on the product listing gives you an idea of how small it is. It comes supplied with a remote, instruction manual and quite a bit of thought has gone into how it has been packaged, to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.The FM radio has a built-in aerial wire which needs to be unravelled to get the best reception. You can do an automatic scan to find stations and it will add these to memory, although it might find some duds.The CD player aspect of the Denver MCA-240 was what interested me the most. It is a top loader and apart from when first spinning up it is quiet. The remote works really well – allowing you to skip through or rewind through tracks. You can also program the HiFi to play any combination of tracks on a particular CD. So, if there is a track on an album that annoys you, you can program the HiFi to ignore it.Sound-wise, it has a decent volume level. There is a slight bit of distortion at the top end. Generally, the sound is pretty clear although lacking in a bit of depth. There are different EQ options but these don’t appear to do too much. The ‘Rock’ EQ just seems to dampen everything down, as an example. POP seems to work best as did Jazz, strangely enough, for me. I would say, overall, the sound lacks a bit of warmth.I’m happy overall with the sound though, for a compact player at this price point it is pretty decent. The speakers, which look quite uninspiring, actually perform really well for what they are. If the Denver MCA-240 was closer to the £50 mark, it is £69.95 at time of review, then I’d be happy to give it five stars. Priced where it is at the moment, I’m going for four.It’s ideal for smaller rooms or if you just want to start listening to CDs again, and to be fair we shouldn’t have stopped listening to them in the first place.

I like HiFi and have done since I bought my first stack system in 1982.This little system wouldn't hold a candle to that, but I paid around £400 back then for it.At £69.95 this is much much cheaper but it still does a pretty good job of playing music. It looks the part with blue lights and piano black on the main unit and a wedge type design, but it is very light and not the best quality. The CD is simple and works fine and the radio also does a decent job with good reception on FM in my unit at work. The remote is simple and easy to use and I found the built in EQ was best set to pop for my tastes. It makes a good clear noise even turned up, and it fills a small room well with sound. The line in offers options to plug in a phone or some other device as there is no Bluetooth. This is a good budget all round mini system, I'm using it for work and it works very well for me.To sum up, if you're after a stereo for a bedroom or small room this is ideal, it wont blow you socks of but it will do the job and doesn't cost a lot of money.

The Denver MCA-240 is a very basic sound system, and at £69.95, it feels a bit overpriced for what it offers. It would be better priced around £50, considering the limited features. It lacks DAB and Bluetooth, which means I can’t stream music wirelessly from phones or other devices. Instead, I’ll need to use the aux audio port, though no cables are included in the box.The volume is decent for small gatherings of about 5-10 people but wouldn’t be suitable for larger parties. The overall sound quality is mediocre, and while it does play CDs normally, the system doesn’t have much beyond that. It’s essentially just an FM radio with an alarm, sleep timer, and CD player.It comes with a built-in antenna cable, and the remote control is small and functional but limited, as expected for a budget system. There are no USB ports, SD card readers, or additional features that you might expect from modern HiFi systems.While it works fine for basic use, I was a bit disappointed with the overall quality. It’s compact and easy to fit in smaller spaces, but don’t expect much in terms of advanced functionality.

Just like the title of the review this gives me an overload of Nostalgia. I remember the beautiful 90s and eary 2000s. The quality of sound is great, the radio and alarm feature is off the hook. Easy to setup, had to go route out old cds to play on it and works very well.
