5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality and thoroughly recommended.
This is an excellent starter 3d printer. Excellent value for money.
4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for beginners
The 3D Printer comes fully assembled and is relatively small, so this is quite easy to store and works well on a tabletop setup. On start up all you need to do is select your language and load the filament that they give which is fairly easy - I received a roll of white filament, once you’ve done that you are good to go. It also comes with some extra kit like an extra nozzle and a nozzle cleaner. Preloaded onto the SD card they give are some test models, and a full manual (you can only view this online), their own custom slicer software and a modified version of the Cura slicer. The 3D printer also comes with a USB SD card reader, and a USB reader, so they’ve really made sure you can access the SD card easily. I tried using their slicer software, but it was laggy and ruined a print, and instead I used the official Ultimaker Cura software over their modified version of Cura that was much better for slicing. The online manual is quite comprehensive and clear so if there were any problems you could consult the online manual. As is the trend with 3D printers, prints generally take longer than expected, but the Tina 2 can 3D print consistently over long periods of time, and is very precise as well. The Tina 2 also comes with some features found on higher end 3D printers such as auto bed levelling and a heated bed. The bed of the 3D printer is quite small however, and this does limit you in what you can print, and this printer is much more suited for small models as opposed to huge prints. Overall the 3D printer is easy to use, compact and high quality for the price point, and I would highly recommend this for someone beginning their 3D printing journey.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun to try out 3d printing!
The media could not be loaded. OK so I don't know much about 3D printing but being a bit of a techy (worked in IT for 30+ years) I have always fancied giving it a try and am now so glad I have got the opportunity. I was a little worried about what I needed to remove and not but once I'd downloaded the videos it was all straight forward and really easy to start printing straight from the example models (on the supplied micro-SD card). I went for the dragon one. You also get a spool of PLA filament for the machine (which you have to thread through the appropriate aperture!)My first attempt is shown here - the dragon - and I think it did a fabulous job! It is very smooth and looks great - I am thinking of painting it (I've got loads of acrylic paints which I think will work well on it). It took 1 hour 33 minutes to print it. The nozzle gets to 21o degrees - so don't touch it!!Hence I cannot wait to try some things off-piste. I first need to buy some more filament and have my eyes on some snazzy multicoloured stuff. Then I need to download an STL from the internet (I've got my eye on a bird feeder and a Stranglers coaster/beer mat) and then put that through the Wiibuilder software to do its "slicing" and produce some "Gcode".Wish me luck!+++++++++++++++++++++++++UPDATE:So, I've been trying out this printer for a couple of weeks now so I thought I would update you.It IS great fun but it has a few limitations - mainly to do with its size. For instance some parts that my friend and I wanted to print out were too big for the dimensions of the machine - and you could possibly be scaled down but then of course you can't use them for their original intention (for instance if they needed to fit within something else). Also my wife found a 3d cup holder she wanted me to print but I would have had to scale it to 75% of the original hence it wouldn't work with the base of the cup.Secondly most filament spools at decent prices are the 1KG variety and these are huge in comparison to the free one that comes with the machine, which really is not designed for a spool this size... hence the first thing to do is either put some of this large filament onto a smaller spool... or do what I did and find a larger spool which has been designed for the Tina 2.This works better!I did have a bit of a filament malfunction on one print and had to start again cos there was a kink in the filament - but that's the only other problem I've had which isn't size related. Oh other than I don't like the wiibuilder software/interface - I prefer the cura software which is free and easily downloadable. All in all I am rreally loving my 3d printer... just wish it was larger!
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to setup & use, was printing within 10mins of opening it.
The media could not be loaded. I've wanted to give 3D printing a try ever since i saw a 3D printer online for the first time many years ago however due to the cost of them & having zero knowledge in 3D printing, i decided against the idea & never did get chance to try it.So after seeing this WEEFUN Tina2 3D Printer being marketed as a beginner friendly 3D printer i thought i'd pick it up & give it a try.So for the record i've gone into this as a complete 3D print novice & have never 3D printed anything in my life before. One thing that amazed me with this printer was how simple the setup was.I did flick through the instructions very briefly but it was just a case of undoing a few bits of tape, removing a plastic shaft cover, putting the feed pipe into the extruder, adding the filament reel on the side of the machine & it was ready to go.It even comes with a little TF card which to my surprise had a handful of pre-installed models on it.So it is literally ready to print straight out the box & i was printing my first ever item within 10mitues of opening it which ended up being a cute little cat eared ring for my daughter. In total i've printed 10 things now & haven't had a single issue with it or a failed print.Overall i've been really impressed with this WEEFUN 3D printer so far.Considering it's price tag, i thought it was made to a really high standard, it offers great value for money & was a very capable little machine with some really good features.I love that it was really simple to setup & use, it really is a beginner friendly machine. It has a nice & clear LCD screen.Has auto levelling.Pause & resume print feature which allows you to continue even after a power cut.Plus thanks to it's compact design it can easily fit on my desk without taking up much room as its only 21 x 20 x 27cm.It's been a really fun & enjoyable experience learning how to 3D print with this 3D printer so far & i would definitely say it's a good first step into the world of 3D printing.
