The instructions are confusing. Neither of the two provided wrenches fits on the screws that connect the rake head to the handle (head end) see pictures.Was able to put together with my own tools and the product itself does a great job in the garden. Feels quality and heavy as well

Very heavy duty thatch rake. It does a good job of reomving the thatch but I've also found it is pulling at some of the healthy rooted grass too which is not brilliant. It's got an adjustable head angle which makes it good for people of differing height, but don't expect to be able to make use of the spanner tools it comes with - I had to use my own socket set to put it together.

The tool looks ok, but assembly common think that there are woman that requires garden tools and will require to assembly it was very tricky but I managed to assembly after two hours and looking for the right wrench for the M6 in my late husband box tool 😵💫🤯

PRODUCT: Heavy duty thatch rake.PACKAGING: Plain cardboard box.FUNCTION: This comes sealed in a sturdy plain cardboard box. Inside all the parts are wrapped in clear plastic or bubble wrap. It also comes with a bag of fixings (nut, bolts and two double headed spanners). Assembly instructions are printed on a sturdy piece of card which also provides marketing details for other products. The instructions include diagrams with explanation beneath. Although basic, the instructions are easy to follow and to understand.The handle is in four parts. The upper most part has a rubber grip end. The tubes slot into one another and a plastic cap covers the join and screws in place. The only part that requires the nuts and bolts is the handle head end which attaches to both the blades and the handle tube. The spanners are double headed - size 14 at one end and 13 at the other. You use one end to secure the nut while you turn the bolt with the other (or visa versa). The angle of the 'cutting deck' can be adjusted to suite your needs.The blade attachment is quite weighty. The steel blades are not so sharp that you risk injuring yourself and they are easy to clean. Once assembled, the tool is very long - nearly 6 foot in length and it not adjustable. I am just over 5 foot in height, so it feels a little awkward for me.The tool did the job intended, although it is very labour intensive, but motorized alternatives are just too costly, so I will persevere. It did a much better job at de-thatching than my leaf rake.At the time of this review (June 2025) the thatch rake was £39.99. This is a well made tool and appears durable. A little heavy and long for someone who is petite, but more cost effective than a powered alternative. I would recommend.

This Rake is the most effective tool I have used to de-thatch my lawn. It’s extremely well made from hardwearing materials and feels like it will last a long time even with heavy use. It has a clever design - the rake has two levels of tines that can be used for deep or shallow de-thatching depending on your needs, and are easily adjusted cy changing her angle of the rake head. It is quite a heavy tool so not particularly easy to use but gives great results with a bit of hard work. The only negative is that the Bolts are a different size in the package from on the instructions - everything fits together properly but you will need your own spanner to complete the job, which is no great problem. Despite this glitch it’s excellent value.

JARDINEER Thatch rake & Manual Dethatcher Tool,This rake has a common design like most dethatcher rake where you can adjust the angle of the blades in order to make life easier during use.This is used to remove the thatch and moss in order to help grass growth.Construction of the tool is actually very good, its metal so is very durable and the tool itself is quite heavy. The blades worked very efficiently and it did a good job however, i have noticed that some of the blades did have more play after the first usage. I would note that nothing has fallen or broken off though and the tool does the job just fine.Assembly was well ok, the instructions could have been alot more clearer. I would also state that you get a size 13 and a size 14 spanner the size 14 was good for the m8 nuts the 13 was literally useless because the correct size is actually a size 10 so make sure you have one of these at hand otherwise your going to need to either buy one or come up with something else in order to put the head on the rake.The rake ability is very good its does the job its intended for and should last a while although once finished you may need to check all the screws to make sure they haven't come loose at least two for me did and i had to make sure they were tight again.Being manual this is quite labour intensive although getting a power version of the tool can be quite costly so if money is tight this is the alternative option. You do get a good workout though.The handle itself is hard plastic with rubber it did yield good grip although i was wearing gloves however, i didn't experience any issues with the handle itself.Overall a very good quality tool, is labour intensive, the size 13 spanner was useless it should be a size 10, i do like the fact you can change the angle of the rake to make life easier.instructions could have been better explained.
