The colour of the liquid seems to have optical brighteners as it has that slightly 'dayglow' look about it.It washes superbly and leaves plenty of lovely fresh scent behind. My whites were visibly white and stain free on a short wash. A highly effective laundry detergent.This is the only brand of laundry detergent I use now and I really love being able to get everything clean on short cycles. It's great value for money because it saves me a fortune on my electric bill!

This "Persil Wonder Wash Liquid Detergent" is designed for short washing machine cycles and specifically for whites. The bottle arrives loosely in Bolo outer packaging and is a fairly regular shape & size for a laundry detergent bottle. I read the instructions on the back of the bottle though and there was no mention of any preferred temperature to use the liquid with. I chose to test this on a 40 degree cycle as I think that is pretty standard. I used a capful of the product and upon opening the bottle I noticed it has a fresh and pleasant scent. I decided to run this wash without any further washing aids, such as fabric softener. The white wash contained two pillowcases, a table cloth and a blouse all with varying degrees of whiteness to them...Results-wise I was very happy. The washing smelled nice (even having just used the Persil by itself as mentioned earlier) and worked well as an optical brightener I feel. All-in-all I am happy and have no reason to criticize or mark down the product in any way. You could maybe argue it is quite pricey at £8.59 (price correct at time of writing) but the bottle is pretty large at basically 1.5 litres and advertises itself as lasting for 55 washes, which is a healthy amount I feel. I'm going to stick with five stars mainly because I'm happy, but also because how you spend your money is your business.

Persil delivers a great wash, especially for whites, and this doesn't disappoint.With two boys at school we go through a heck of a lot of white school shirts each week.This got them sparkling white on a 40 degree wash and left them with a lovely fresh fragrance that wasn't overpowering.55 washes from a single bottle is a great bonus!Highly recommended.

Why did you choose this product over others?:My washing machine is a bit odd and doesn't have a lot of short cycle options. There is a 15 min quick wash, and the next fastest is 50mins, so I never use the 15 min wash as it doesn't get my clothes clean. With the Persil Wonder Wash, the 15min cycle does do a better job getting my clothing clean and mild stains out. I don't think it does the job of a longer wash, but for clothing that is isn't too dirty or stained, it does a good job and leave the clothes smelling clean and fresh.

After using it for several washes, my white clothes look noticeably cleaner and more vibrant without any harshness to the fabric. This is a large bottle, it will last me quite a while.I have used it on darks, lights, whites, towels and bedding so far and have seen a consistent good result. I fill the washing machine drawer with this detergent and some softener to and the washing comes out clean, soft and smelling amazing. The scent is kind of palmer violet esc.
