It has a screen that displays the air quality and an auto function so if the air quality is low it will automatically adjust to clean it. It is really big so just be aware of that if it’s for a small room. It’s also fairly quiet and my son has it on 24/7. It’s also a bonus that the filter lasts 5 years. We just clean it regularly and that’s all it needs.Overall it has definitely been brilliant value for money for us.

I have ownded several smaller and considerably cheaper air purifiers, but in all honesty, none have ever turned out to be much good, so a case of money wasted.Like most people, considering paying as much as this Shark Max was, is a huge decision to make, one not to be taken lightly.So firstly I read a great many reviews, then I researched the actual machine, size, weight, operation, filter life etc.All of which I found to be most helpful and was extremely satisfied by my findings.Fortunately, Bolo offer interest free monthly installments, which made making the decision to purchase much easier.Setting it up straight out of the box was very easy indeed and took me a total of less than 10 minutes.I love the appearance of this purifier, it doesn't look like any other purifier and looks really nice futuristic.I have only used it on auto mode, which is the default mode out of the box, my lounge, which is the room I purchased this for, is approximately 18 foot X 12 foot in size.Please also note that as per the supplied quick start instructions, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE THE FRAGRANCE CANNISTER SUPPLIED (ODOUR CONTROL) FOR THE PURIFIER TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY, INSTALLING AND USING THE SUPPLIED FRAGRANCE CANNISTER IS ENTIRELY YOUR FREE CHOICE.I only mention this fact as I have noticed a few buyers have expressed their dismay at the whole idea of the fragrance cannister being counter intuitive, based on buying a purifier to remove odours, why then have to use a fragrance cannister.Well, you don't have too, so just as I have done, I haven't even installed the fragrance cannister, the air purifier works perfectly without it.Once I first turned the machine on, it starts off on full power (the fan) whilst it initially checks the current air quality in the room.After 5 minutes, the display showed an improvement was already under way, and after a total of 20 minutes, the purifier showed good air quality had been achieved.I can honestly say that even after 15 minutes, I could notice a difference to the air quality and the overall ambience within the room, amazing!I have left the purifier on auto mode throughout the night and it remains on, it has displayed an air quality of 100% only occasionally dropping slightly due to through traffic of family members, but doesn't take very long to return to 100%.On auto mode, the fan is only noticeable during the periods when it needs to come fully on, to re adjust the air quality, otherwise you barely notice it's on.In my personal opinion, even when it runs at full pelt, it's certainly not what I would call noisy, I can comfortably watch TV without issue.It does have a setting for night time, that makes the display lights very dim or off altogether, but again, I have left it on and it hasn't bothered me.The main filter can last up to 5 years, all you need to do is remember to brush or vacuum the removable side filters regularly, just to maintain healthy operation.This purifier most certainly works incredibly well, I am very impressed!Expensive, yes, worth it? YES!Remember to consider the average annual savings for filter replacement too, when considering purchasing any others.I love the fact that everyone who has seen it, asks, 'whats that'? When I tell them, they say how amazing it looks, really 'space age', which amuses me!Register it online at Shark and you will receive a second years guarantee free, so 2 years in total. (Must be done within 30 days of purchase, even if not bought from Shark directly, also keep your purchase receipt in case of a claim).

A really substantial and effective air filter and purifier. Like all Shark/Ninja products, this unit looks and feels solid and well-manufactured.Quick to unpack and setup. I could have done with a more substantial operating guide and instructions. Unexpectedly, the controllable ‘odour control’ cartridge offers a very pleasing, subtle fragrance to the filtered atmosphere. Unfortunately, there’s no information about how often this might need replacing.On its lowest fan setting, the filter is quiet enough to operate right next to a light-sleeper. The unit has an auto setting, varying according to ambient dust and particulate levels and seems to quickly reach reassuringly ‘100%’ healthy levels. The illuminated feedback panel can be dimmed or completely switched off to suit a bedroom and sleeping environment.Although quite pleasing to look at, the unit is bigger and bulkier than I anticipated. Slightly disappointed there is no run-timer function and the unit definitely lacks a remote control.The controls are a touch-sensitive, illuminated panel on the top surface, so it’s essential to have line-of-sight to the controls to make adjustments. This is not ideal. I’d have preferred a more ‘intuitive’ smarter set of controls. A remote or an associated app would be the finishing touch of perfection to a very promising addition to the Shark Clean lineup!

After some research done to find the right sort of air purifier, I bit the bullet and purchased this model. This is probably one of the best long term investments made regarding clean indoor air quality. I work from home three days per week, so spend most of my time here, and the air quality has improved significantly since then. Indoor air quality is not the same as being outside, so I have resolved this issue with this and now feels much fresher and clearer. My desk space is located in the bedroom. I sleep much better at night and also noticed that I no longer wake up with a stuffy nose. We had a bbq not too long a go, the smell of smoke wafted down the other end of the house. Immediately , the air purifier went into overdrive and banished the smoke smells. This is a real sturdy piece of kit and easy to move into other rooms, should you so wish. Economical with electrical usage, too. Switches to economic mode once it’s done its job. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Filter just needs to be cleaned every two weeks or so.

Mum has COPD, she uses it in her bedroom and it shows 100% air, if she uses her nebuliser it shows the quality going down below 70% so does work well. We haven't used the smell filter as yet, but really impressed with it.

I love my air purifier. What more needs to be said. Auto mode ramps up and down as needed - it can throw a lot of air at higher settings. I generally keep mine on setting one and vacuum the pre-filters once a month. I can't hear it in my room on that setting but if you set it to max it is certainly audible. It does often come £50 off on sale, making it very good value.
