But now, I can have that rich flavor and lovely foam in my own kitchen! The taste finds a way to keep the complexities of authentic matcha, while still being accessible to any matcha enthusiast. The packaging is also very pleasing to the eye, I love the metal tin.If you're looking for a proper matcha experience outside of Japan, Midori Matcha is the way to go!

Don't leave many reviews, but felt I had to for this as it was superb.Wasn’t expecting to be this impressed, but this is proper matcha. Bright green, smooth, and no bitterness. You can tell it’s the good stuff the moment you open the tin.I’ve had it in the mornings instead of coffee a few times now — gives a lift without the crash, and just feels better in the body. I try to eat pretty healthily and this is spot on.The tin looks great too — wouldn’t mind giving it as a gift actually. I’ll be getting this again.

Bought this Midori Matcha for £24, and right off the bat, you can tell it's quality stuff for the price. The powder has that seriously vibrant green colour and super fine texture you want to see in good ceremonial grade matcha. No dullness here.I prepare it as usucha, usually around 75C water with an electric frother. Taste-wise, it absolutely delivers on the fundamentals of quality Uji matcha: it's smooth, has a pleasant umami kick followed by a gentle sweetness, and zero bitterness. Really clean finish.So, quality isn't the issue. The thing is, it leans heavily into being balanced and smooth. While that's great, I honestly found the flavour profile a bit… safe. It has all the right notes, but none of them really sing or offer much distinct character. For the price, I was hoping for something a little more interesting or complex that would make it stand out. As it is, while definitely high quality, it doesn't taste remarkably different from other well-made, balanced Uji matchas.Bottom line: If you want a reliable, smooth, easy-drinking Uji matcha that ticks all the quality boxes, this is a solid choice. It's pleasant and high-grade. But if you're specifically hunting for a matcha with a more complex, unique, or pronounced flavour profile, you might find this one a bit too straightforward.

A really delicious tea from Midori Matcha: I bought the Every Day tea first, then tried the premium version. It has a smooth but intense taste and I only needed a tiny spoonful. It's like a cup of green treasure: I can't believe it's taken me so long to discover Matcha!
