Wi-Fi, GPS, Night Vision. Perfect picture quality from BOTH cameras, and very easy to instal... although I paid to have it hard-wired by a professional for aesthetic reasons. Considering the price I would argue that this camera is probably one of the few on the market that can earn the title "value for money." With all the settings and functions of the higher priced brands, but at an affordable price, this brand will definitely be my go-to for future purchases.

    Good easy to set up

5.0 out of 5 stars Good dual-camera setup with strong performance and a few quirks

    G. · 13 May 2025

I ordered the REDTIGER F4 Pro 4K Dash Cam through the Bolo Vine Programme and have been using it in my car as a replacement for an older HD model. This version includes both a front 4K camera and a 1080p rear camera, with a 128GB memory card in the box.Video QualityThe front-facing video quality is a clear step up from my previous HD camera. It captures number plates well during the day, which for me is the key test. At night, the results are more variable and depend heavily on surrounding lighting and angles, but still generally acceptable.I have not yet permanently installed the rear camera. I briefly tested it by pointing it out of the front window to get a sense of the image quality. It is clearly not at the same level as the front camera, but it appears suitable for basic rear coverage. Installation for the rear camera is more involved, and I did not have time to route the cable properly, so I decided to postpone that step.Installation ExperienceInstallation overall is not straightforward. I spent a good part of an afternoon on it and found the printed instructions limited. It would have helped to have links to video guides showing installation in a few common vehicle types, so you could either find your own model or at least something similar. After deciding where to mount the camera, the real challenge is routing the cables neatly and keeping them out of the way of passengers and controls. This is my first dash cam with a separate rear-facing camera, and I found that aspect added complexity. I am sure someone experienced would find it much easier, so this is not necessarily a criticism of this model in particular. I expect I would face the same issue with any similar two-camera setup.Transferring FootageSo far I have transferred video files by removing the memory card and plugging it directly into a PC. This worked without issue. Wireless transfer is supported and seems like a helpful feature, though I have not yet needed to try it. I see too that you can switch between different WiFi bands in the setup.Display and InterfaceThe touchscreen is small at 2.2 inches, but it is clear and reasonably responsive. That said, I did find it a bit tricky to use at times, needing to press or swipe more than once to get a response. That may partly be down to getting used to the interface, but it is something to be aware of. Realistically, the screen is only used for setup and to confirm that the camera is operating, so neither the screen size nor the responsiveness is a major drawback. The voice control works, but I have found it a little over-sensitive when listening to audiobooks, which can cause it to trigger unintentionally. Depending on what you typically listen to while driving, this may or may not be an issue.GPS and Parking ModeI like that GPS is built in. It logs both speed and location, which can be useful if the footage ever needs to be used as evidence. I have not tested the 24-hour parking mode because it requires a separate hardwiring kit. I am not sure it would add much benefit given the limited field of view compared to cars with this built in (e.g. Tesla).Included Storage and Build QualityIt is a real plus that it comes with a 128GB memory card included. Dash cams are demanding on memory cards, so I plan to purchase another and rotate them to reduce wear. The device itself feels compact and well made. I positioned it out of the eyeline of both driver and passenger, and it does not obstruct the view.Mounting AdviceThis model uses an adhesive pad to secure the dash cam mount to the windscreen. An electrostatic film is also included, which acts as a removable base layer between the adhesive and the glass. It allows you to position the mount without sticking it directly to the windscreen, which may be useful if testing placement before committing. However, this method is not as secure or long lasting as attaching the mount directly to the glass. In real-world use, the electrostatic film can lose grip over time, particularly in warm weather or when exposed to regular vibration. It is generally seen as a temporary option, typically lasting no more than a few months depending on conditions. Once removed, it does not usually stick properly again. You will also need a new adhesive pad if you choose to reposition the mount. After considering the options, I chose to attach the bracket directly to the windscreen. I am not planning to change vehicles in the near future and wanted the strongest and most reliable hold. I placed the mount carefully, out of the eyeline of both driver and passenger, and allowed the adhesive to settle for a few days before attaching the camera. That may not have been essential, but it seemed sensible to let it bond fully before applying any weight. Also, mounting directly to the glass should still allows for future removal if necessary. It is just not as quick or convenient as the electrostatic film approach. So far, the mount has stayed secure and I am pleased with the choice.Overall ThoughtsAt the time of writing, this dash cam is listed at £179.99 with a £50 voucher, bringing the price down to £129.99. At that price, I think it offers very good value, especially considering it includes both front and rear cameras and a 128GB memory card.Overall, this is a capable and compact dash cam with good video quality, useful features and a solid design. I considered deducting one star because of the limited setup guidance and the need for additional purchases to unlock some features, but at the current price and strong performance where it matters I think it just gets 5 stars. At £179.99, I would have given it 4 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it’s supposed to — and does it well.

    . · 29 April 2025

I’ve used a few dash cams before, and this one feels like a nice upgrade in most ways. The front camera records in 4K, and the quality’s genuinely impressive — clear enough to read number plates from a few cars ahead, even when the lighting isn’t great. The rear camera is only 1080p, so it's fine for general recording but not quite as sharp. You’ll still catch anything important happening behind you, just not in quite as much detail.Setup was straightforward — no dramas there. The front camera sits up high on the windscreen and doesn’t get in the way, and the rear camera plugs in with a slim audio jack-style cable, which made threading it through the boot of a hatchback a bit easier than usual. The design’s compact, which I like — doesn’t scream "gadget" on your dashboard. One feature that surprised me a bit was the voice control. It sounds like a novelty, but it actually comes in handy when you're trying to keep your hands on the wheel. That said, it can be a bit sensitive and may not always respond the way you’d expect, especially in noisier environments. Still, it’s a useful option to have — though I can see some people choosing to switch it off depending on their setup. The app is easy enough to use — clips transfer quickly over Wi-Fi (way faster than older models I’ve tried), though for longer footage I still just pop out the SD card and move it to the laptop. It comes with a 128GB card, which is generous, though if you’re planning to use it daily, you might want to swap it for something more heavy-duty.This is a well-made dash cam that covers the basics really well and throws in a few extras. Not everything’s perfect — the voice control is a bit touchy, and the rear camera isn’t the sharpest — but it does the job, and it does it reliably. That’s pretty much all I ask from a dash cam.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best cam/carplay unit i have had so far

    c.c. · 23 June 2025

Well so far so good just got this ,and it appears to knock spots off all the other dash cam/car play units I have had to return lately due to either crap Chinese customer service or some faults on all of them .like for example not having the updated software for one of them on the Apple App Store very bad ,and the customer service was atrociously bad.this is very easy to set up great screen to enable touch set up,WiFi does seem to have a problem connecting but see how that goes .

    So far so good.

(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } This is the 5th dash-cam I’ve tried and this one is the chosen winner. I wanted a cam that can be installed on the dash vs on the windshield, and this cam can do both. There’s a warning in the manual that says “GPS signal may fluctuate when using the machine upside down.” but so far it has been working fine.Personally I really don’t care for a GPS map - only for speed indicator, and the speed that is shown on the video clips is excellent evidence to prove that you indeed came to a complete stop (if that’s the case), or your speed in case of collision. The Wi-Fi connection with my iPhone is excellent, quite fast, and the Wi-Fi can be turned on/off by voice command. All the voice commands work very well and you don’t need to repeat yourself. One major thing that I’m not happy with is that you can’t control most of the cam functions from the app, but mainly from the buttons and the touchscreen on the camera. However, once you become familiar with the touchscreen settings you set it to your liking and forget about it.In my opinion this is an excellent dash-cam and worth its price. Much recommend.BTW, since my vehicle is a large 22 footer camper-van, I’m not able to use the rear camera.

A great performing little all-in-one unit

    T. · 21 June 2025

Everyone needs to have a dashcam in their vehicle, this one is a good option based on my three week test.My test included replacing my old dashcam with this new one by REDTIER and making sure that it was hardwired, not connected to my cigarette lighter. This is the best configuration and allows you to take full advantage of the dashcam.Summary: I found that the quality of this dashcam is very good right from the main control unit to the backup camera and the quality of pictures from both. The feature set is very good and the WIFI connection makes getting your videos off the dashcam very easy and fast. Overall, I'm good to recommend this unit and find it performs very well for the price. Now let's get in to the details...1) Picture quality: The 4K front camera is very good. I easily captures license plates in the day time and with medium to good lighting at night. The camera does struggle (as expected for any dashcam) with low or no extra light. The rear camera is good, I installed in inside my SUV to keep it clean in the rain and snow.2) Setup: Setup can be as easy as throwing in the Micro SD card and turning the camera on. From there you can decide if you want to install the rear facing camera and also install the app for additional configuration (recommended). You'll find that the app is very easy to setup and that the rear facing camera is actually quite easy to install once you review a few tips on YouTube. Just search for dashcam installation for your particular year and model of vehicle. So, back to the opening - I am good to recommend this dashcam, it's well built, performs really well, and is good value for the money.

Decent quality video with voice control

    F. · 17 June 2025

This dash cam was easy to install, has a pretty decent quality picture and has voice control too. The camera is easy to connect to the app and transferring the video to my phone is easy and pretty quick. I was going to ask my mechanic dad to help me install it but I was able to do it myself.

    Don’t expect much average product.

    A. · 20 June 2025

It will only work with a cigaret lighter plug not with any other power source. It will go to data transfer mode of you try to connect with type c or A connectors in the car.

Well designed, sleek dash cam, with LOTS of control.

    B. · 20 May 2025

I really like this dash cam. It's easy to use, yet very flexible. I love the way it mounts, both the forward and rear facing cameras. The cables are plenty long. The biggest win is that the rear facing camera mounts inside the vehicle, so running the cable is SO much easier. The video quality from both cameras meets my expectations for a good dashcam. I like everything about this camera, except for 1 thing, which is the reason for the missing star on my review. You can buy the forward facing and rear facing cameras separately, for a much better price. Why charge so much more for putting them in the same box? Outside of that, this is a really great camera, my second from Red Tiger. They make good stuff.

This dash cam was easy to install, has a pretty decent quality picture and has voice control too. The camera is easy to connect to the app and transferring the video to my phone is easy and pretty quick. I was going to ask my mechanic dad to help me install it but I was able to do it myself.

    Don’t expect much average product.

It will only work with a cigaret lighter plug not with any other power source. It will go to data transfer mode of you try to connect with type c or A connectors in the car.

Well designed, sleek dash cam, with LOTS of control.
