It's great so easy to use
Just what we needed for our Thanksgiving dinner!
Perfect size and kept all of the side dishes at the right temperature. It is a keeper for sure!
It works!
Before purchasing I laid out my serving ware in a space with the provided measurements. The size was ample. The mat gets warm/hot quickly and is evenly heated throughout. I am pleased with this purchase. It really surpassed my expectations
Dangerous
So nice for entertaining, however, be careful of kids and people unaware that it get hot even in the area not covered by your dish. Easy for kids to hurt themselves.I still loved it for things out of reach of kids.
Thanksgiving SUCCESS!
Maybe you don’t have the same issue (how?) but at family gatherings at my house where there is a lot of food, i.e. Thanksgiving, there’s a constant motion of ‘this dish is done’ but ‘the turkey still has 30 more minutes’. Or one dish is out of the microwave and another has to go in, and you have to keep rotating microwave and oven to keep things warm. …Or you give up and eat cold food, which is honestly what usually happens.I do not like cold food. I’ve had my eye on a warming plate or mat for a while, and I finally decided to get this one for the holidays coming up. I put it out for Thanksgiving at my mom’s house, a little nervous that she would hate it. Well, we had 2 dinners with different members of the family, and when we finished the second one she said “wow, this mat has been really useful!” Yes. With different people bringing different dishes, it was critical in keeping things at least KIND OF warm. They have to be in the right kind of dishes (i.e. flatter) to work really well. But it kept oven dishes warm, and other types of serving dishes fairly warm. The mixing bowl (with mashed potatoes), well, the bottom got warm! What more can you ask?So far, my praise has been for the simplicity of owning a warming mat. Any mat. If you don’t have one, get one.Why might this one be a better choice than any other? Well, I haven’t used other warming mats. But I know that this was super easy to use. It comes with a (cheap) storage bag and a (cheap) strap so you can roll it up and store it. It unrolls, you set it on the counter, it has little feet so that you aren’t harming whatever surface it’s on (we were on granite but if you have a wooden table you’d be particularly concerned that the hot part isn’t hurting your table). Then it has a control panel with power and different heat settings. The low heat setting was actually pretty warm. The highest setting might actually heat up some food.Then it plugs right in. The cord isn’t super long but that’s what extension cords are for. (It’s decently long, too, for the counter, I just don’t think you could put it on a kitchen table without an extra cord.)When finished, wipe it down, roll it up. Easy.This is going to change our lives. Nay, it already has! I ate warm yams and veggies!!We’re already planning to pull this out for a birthday (chinese food), caroling party, and probably Christmas!
Maintains the heat level already present
This food warming mat is sooo handy! I will say that it does not necessarily WARM your food from cold to warm, but it maintains the heat offf your food. For example, I use this mat when I have to cook for the family or am having guests over. I set this mat up and as dishes are done I place them on the mat to help maintain the heat of the food so they don’t get cold while I’m cooking other dishes. It’s helpful for that.
