Why did you choose this product over others?:Think I ended up paying about £57 for this SSD. It works great - fast loads, silent. Easy to install and the PS5 takes care of everything once physically installed. Would buy it again and would be happy to install it in a PC.

After my son carried out his research he decided on this SSD for his PS5. After researching how to remove the cover on the PS5 and nervously managing to remove it without causing any damage, the SSD installation was super easy and works brilliantly. A must have addition to any PS5.I am not tech savvy enough to review the speed of the SSD but all you need to know is it plays games without any noticeable issues.

I currently have two Crucial M.2 drives in my PCs: a T500 (which I own) and this P310, which I received to test. The T500 has a DRAM cache and the P310 doesn’t. If you don’t know what this means, essentially it is better to have DRAM than not. A storage drive with DRAM has a longer life expectancy and better performance, with less wear as information is written to it. But the guaranteed ‘terabytes written’ level of the P310 is high enough for the average user to not have to worry about at all, and in my experience Crucial’s customer service is excellent, so the warranty of five years should give you some peace of mind.Now, I’m not going to pretend to be some kind of expert - I haven’t run any special software to compare the performance of the two drives - but in reality for a normal person this drive is more than fast enough and you are unlikely to spot much of a difference in day to day use. So unless you have a particular, demanding task in mind, go for whichever is cheapest. That is probably the main downside of the P310 at the moment; a lot of similar or better-performing drives cost about the same or less. It is new though, so it is likely to drop in the coming months, I would think. The best use of this particular model (without a heatsink) would be in a laptop or in a compact case without much airflow; it is efficient and doesn’t seem to get very hot. The trouble with the particular version I have as far as laptop installation goes Is that it has an integrated heatsink. Technically, you could probably remove this (there are videos online showing the procedure) but it isn’t easy and you really shouldn’t - your warranty will be voided if you do. So, if you want something like this drive for a laptop, save a few pennies and get the non-heatsink version.

The 2TB Crucial P310 M.2 SSD is a perfect storage upgrade for your PS5. It comes preinstalled with a heatsink grille which is a recommended option for a PS5 installation. Installing the drive into a PS5 is simple stuff - simply unclip the side cover on the console, remove the cover for the SSD bay, slide in the drive and secure with a small screw. Once installed the PS5 will automatically recognise the drive and format it as required.Crucial are an incredibly well established brand when it comes to RAM and Storage device, and they have been around since the 70's. Their products are very high quality and this M.2 drive is no exception.Once the PS5 has formatted the drive it performs a read speed test. My machine rated this drive at 6125MB/s which is not too far away from the advertised top speed of 7100MB/s. Having used the drive for over a month and having transferred all my content over to it, it has performed flawlessly and is therefore spot on as far as I'm concerned - I'm very happy.Highly recommended bit of kit if you're looking to upgrade the storage on your PS5.

Compré este SSD para ampliar el almacenamiento de mi PC y ha sido una decisión excelente. La instalación fue rápida y sencilla, y el disipador que trae ya integrado encaja perfectamente. Muy buen rendimiento. Las velocidades de carga han mejorado notablemente, y los juegos se ejecutan sin ningún tipo de lag. Además, con 2TB tengo espacio de sobra para todos mis juegos digitales.
