My second, the ice cube size feature is extra to the last one, that's a year old.Easy to use and clean, ours is on 24/7, we even take it in the motorhome. The old one is still going fine and is donated to my son. I bought the new one due to, when in use the old one kept on producing ice, so I immediately thought a control board, as it had been left out and it got dewey. Reading the instructions book for the new one, I read that bright sunshine can give false readings on the ice full sensors, pilot error, so there's nothing wrong with the old one. Great for a constant flow of ice, with a good size reservoir and ice holder, it comes with a scoop. I would definitely recommend this product.

It does what it says on the tin really. Doesn't take long to make large ice cubes. Tray fills up quite quickly. We fill freezer bags with the made icecubes and keep a stock of them.

A super ice maker that does exactly what it's supposed to. The ice maker on our American fridge freezer has unfortunately broken, so we purchased this in replacement and it's excellent. It makes ice cubes quickly, they are a great size and it doesn't take up much room on the worktop. I would definitely recommend.

Used this icemaker 24-7 for nearly a year until it began leaking water. Took cover off to investigate. Turns out an assembly defect or manufacturing defect. They routed the water hose around the cooling fan for the hot coils. Then the water hose rested on one of the copper hot coils which melted a hole through the tubing. Bought an 1/8" straight barb splicer fitting and re-joined the tubing and routed it away from the heat coil with some zip ties. All fixed and may now last many more years. Thing is built quality but then they dropped the ball and routed the water tube over the hot coils. Update: 9/2022. The manufacturer reached out to me after the bad rating and offered me $26 refund. They informed me that they reported the design flaw of routing the water hose near the heat coils and that engineering was going to be changing that. They seem to care about their product and will upgrade and improve it if they discover weak points about its design. One thing they could do to really make it great would be to offer a direct connection to pressurized water supply and use the signal that turns on the refill pump to instead or optionally open an electronic valve to a water supply that would automatically keep it filled with water. That would make this thing 100% complete. Works well but refilling it manually every day is the only usage drawback.

I really like ice, and have recently started making iced coffee to keep in the fridge and wanted an ice maker because the freezer trays are a pain to keep up with. My mom got me this one for my birthday.We set it up last night, so this review is based on one night of use. It was well packaged to prevent damage. The instructions weren’t really super clear how to use, but there was a decent video on this page and that definitely helped. There’s a plug of sort on the bottom (in addition to the drain plug), we still can’t really figure out if it’s supposed to be removed- it looks like there’s a packing styrofoam inside and it was covered with an adhesive sticker, but on the video it looked like it was left on, so we left it alone. If anyone knows what we were supposed to do with it, please let me know…It started making ice pretty fast, but made like 10 cubes per cycle. I left it running and went to bed, woke up a few hours later and the bin was full. It was noticeably loud while producing ice, but not bad enough that it woke us up. Sounded about as loud as a standard refrigerator ice maker when you hold a cup up to it. I’d read the reviews that said not to leave the ice in it long term because it doesn’t hold well, so mid night when I got up I emptied it so that it wouldn’t start melting, no idea of it would’ve that fast but I was being precautionary. Once I removed the first batch, it started making more cubes based on the initial water fill, so apparently the max line isn’t just for one load. There’s an indicator light on the top to show when you need to fill the water, and the directions suggest draining and cleaning the tank daily to prevent bacteria growth which seems logical.So far I’m impressed. I’ll update if it changes, reviews seem to indicate a use life of about a year….

I bought this when I planned to live the rv life, but ended up changing plans due to unforseen circumstances. It moved into a house with me and 2 room mates. It got flushed out with vinegar water every 4 to 6 weeks, and wiped out with bleach every couple weeks in between. It produced ice consistently and ran pretty constantly, but suddenly stopped a week ago. It had the fill light on, but when filled it wouldn't produce ice. I put some vinegar in the assumption that the pump was gummed up, but after 2 days there was green fluid in the icemaker tray. I didn't actually taste it but it smelled faintly of coolant and felt like it too. So, now it's gonna get recycled and I'm gonna look for another cheap machine that will hopefully last as long or longer.I wasn't anal about cleaning it, and it ran pretty much continuously, so I can't say I'm surprised it wore out, but I am a little disappointed, because now it's Christmas season so I won't recieve another unit til January. Back to ice trays in the chest freezer for awhile.

Great for the price

I waited awhile and used the ice maker before I wrote this review. I gave it 4 stars just because it does not make a lot of ice at once. It only makes about 10 cubes. It also takes at least 3 cycles before the cubes are a decent size. Otherwise it works great. I haven’t had any problems with it.The pros are that it helps supplement our ice usage. I have terrible water so I make ice in trays and those take about 8 hours to freeze solid. So the ice maker helps a lot. I start it early if I need ice for the cooler and in a couple hours I have enough for a light layer. If I know we will need ice I start the night before and put the ice in a bag in the freezer as it is made. It’s a good little machine and works great for the price. Just keep in mind this is not an industrial ice machine. It only makes enough ice for 1 glass at a time. I do recommend it just plan ahead if you need a lot of ice.

Excellent Ice Production 18 months later

Update - 1st use(Dec 2021) 18 months later we are very happy we purchased this one. It still works as fast & as well as it did when new. We only use purified water, refrigerated 1st - result: Fast ice cube cycle about every 8 mins as advertised. Room temp water takes a lot longer yielding smaller cubes. When ice basket is full, machine hibernates until ice removed. Machine is pretty quiet, can hear cubes dumping which is a nice reminder, while doing other things but is not loud or obnoxious. Wife & I make 2 or 3 gallon zip bags at a time, then turn off machine(easy drain plug at bottom) until we need more ice. Easy & quick enough for the 2 of us using ice in almost all our beverages. I'd say our usage has been heavy. A main reason for selecting this brand & model are the number of positive reviews versus any other model we looked at. We did buy the extended warranty but haven't needed it - $20 covers any issue - for 5 years. If this one is not available when ever we need to replace it(which may not be for several years the way this is performing) we will stick to Uhomy
