The power pack arrived with a 100% charge. Connect the jump cable to the pack (there’s a little flip up flap at one end with the terminal underneath) before connecting the clamps to the car battery - red (positive) terminal first, black (negative) second. Expect a brief spark or two from the black terminal which shows that the connection has been made. Switch the power pack on using the on/off switch and turn the ignition. After a brief whine my car started with no problems. The instructions emphasise that you should remove the pack immediately after starting the car and not to leave it connected. After disconnecting the pack (black first, red second) I discovered that the 100% charge had dropped to 62% so the pack had to be re-charged, which took around 45 minutes.Ideally, the black jump lead could be a little bit longer but I was able to manoeuvre it into place before connecting. The pack came with a 1x3 USB lead which I’m presuming you can use to charge your phone and a cable/connector which plugs into your cigarette lighter socket. There is a torch function which is accessed by the switch next to the USB sockets – a steady white light and a quick and slow flash function which I’m assuming you can use to warn oncoming traffic if you break down. There’s also a compass built into the pack.The whole caboodle comes enclosed in a black zip up case which allows you to store the pack in the boot of your car. The instruction booklet is fairly easy to read and comes with pictures for us thickies which show how to connect to the car battery.A must have for any car owner during the winter months and well worth the £31.99 I paid for it.

This is genuinely a great jump starter the led lightning isn’t the brightest but you don’t buy this for a torch light. Started my 3.2litre Audi that’s been dead for months on the first try it stuttered into life.
