Genuinely a life saver for camping, bought it as a last resort and a cheaper alternative to a bigger power bank and wow! It is fantastic. Charged your phone incredibly fast and a standard 18v battery lasted me all weekend. Let’s not forget the torch either, incredibly bright with helping yourself to the toilet in the night. Fantastic!

The adapter arrived packed into a generic cardboard box with a protective bubble-wrap pouch and alongside a set of simple printed instructions. After unpacking it and having a look at the adapter, first impressions are good, everything is made to a reasonable standard and it all fits and functions as intended with my DCB182 batteries.After making sure it fit onto my Dewalt batteries, I tested the LED light, which is comparable to the light you’d get on the power-tool bodies themselves. From there, I moved onto checking the USB and DC barrel jack outputs. All three of the outputs work as advertised, the DC5521 port supplies 12V and the USB-C and USB-A ports had no issues feeding variable voltage to connected PD & QC devices. I left it to charge my S23 Ultra from empty to full for just under an hour, which it had no issues with, nothing got overly warm during that time.My only concern is that the adapter doesn’t really have an ‘off’ state, if you’ve got it connected to a battery, it’ll constantly draw a small trickle of energy. So if you leave it on the battery for an extended period of time, it’s going to inevitably discharge the battery and has the potential to over-discharge it. To be fair, they have mentioned this in the product listing and instructions, recommending people to remove it from the battery when it’s not in use. But it would’ve been nice if there was a physical toggle switch instead of having to physically disconnect the adapter between uses.Speaking of draining batteries, my other concern is that the low-voltage cut-off for the adapter is set lower than I'd prefer for Dewalt batteries. Dewalt’s chargers are notorious for refusing to charge batteries that have been drained below 15V, and this adapter only starts to warn the user about a low battery exactly at 15V. It does this by blinking the LED lamp a few times, which is not only undocumented anywhere in the instructions or product listing, but also very easy to misinterpret or miss entirely. Once the supply voltage drops to 14V, the adapter cuts off entirely, but this is already below what is considered to be the safe threshold for a Dewalt battery.As long as you’re conscious about disconnecting it when it’s unused or the battery starts to get low, then it’s a solid and genuinely helpful adapter for providing power to USB devices or anything that can take 12V from a DC5521 port. The current asking price of £12.79 once you’ve applied the 20% off voucher makes this one of the cheaper options on Bolo for this exact adapter at the time of writing. Though, it’s a very generic product being resold by dozens of vendors, so just grab it from whoever happens to be the cheapest at the time.

Solid well built charging adapter for my Dewalt XR batteries. Bought this just to charge my smartphone whilst working on site. Both usb outputs support fast charging with the usb C port being the fastest. Tried 4ah, 5ah, 6ah and 9ah batteries and they all provided fast phone charging capability of around 2% increase per minute. Led light is good with the 3 brightness levels too but for me this is just going to be used as a phone charger. Well worth the money, very pleased 👍

Great idea, a clip on adapter for DeWalt batteries, giving fast charging usb sockets, a 12 volt 3 amp power socket and a led torch with three brightness settings.Everything works as advertised. The charging is PD on the usb c socket, suitable for Apple phones, and QC3.0 on the usb a socket, for everything else the led light is useful as a close up work light. I haven’t tested the 12volt power out.This is a lightweight unit which is disappointingly made of a brittle plastic. The belt clip is very inflexible and, out of the box, there was already a crack halfway across the belt clip. Doesn’t bode well for surviving rough handling.Good idea, disappointing choice of construction material.
