Purchaed the 8TB with heatsink, I wanted to replace my old 1TB drive - lets say its very quick. downside is that it is expensive but worth the money.

Was deciding between this and a 2.5” SSD to back up my gaming catalogue for a while now. So glad I did, I’m getting the advertised speeds (or close to) with my whole library instantly accessible and I have still only used half the storage! Well worth the investment.

Recently upgraded from a 4tb nvme to this 8tb as I was running out of room. This did not come with a heatsink so I had to look for one on Bolo to fit. Again very easy to do and the system recognised this device without issue. Very pleased with this, especially for the price, great value for money.

Picked one up on black friday and using one as a drive for all my games.exceptionally fast drive but that speed comes at a price! Not just for the SSD alone but also if you want to keep it at its peak performance. I currently run a low prolife heatsink on it from a brand called Eluteng that encases the SSD and provides additional cooling for the underside of the SSD. However I still find the temperatures reach 84'c under sustained loads.I use premium Arctic TP-3 thermal pads instead of the ones that come with the Eluteng heatsink. I recommended that you buy a Thermalright heatsink for this SSD if youre a heavy user. Either a HR-09 or HR-10. Low profile heatsinks like the ones that can fit in your PS5 arent going to be enough keep this monster cool. I have an HR-09 on the way!

- I searched high and low for pictures that showed how thick a double-sided NVME looked, but all I could find were pictures showing top and bottom views. I was worried that the double-sided NVME would not fit into my tiny USB enclosures, even though the manufacturers claimed they are supported. I needed to be sure, so I had to buy it to find out. I am glad it turned out great!- I use the "MAIWO dual-slot NVMe RAID USB 3.2 Gen2x2 20Gbps Enclosure." The SN850X 8TB is very slim and fits perfectly into the enclosure, and there is still room for air to flow through the bottom between the NVME and the enclosure. I use a USB fan to blow at it while it backs up my NAS over the network continuously for several hours.- I also tested it on an "Acasis 40Gbps Dual-bay USB-C Thunderbolt 4 enclosure (TBU405PROMAX)." The SN850X fits and works too, but for Windows users, I recommend staying away from this enclosure. There is a major issue with this enclosure: data can only be access from the OS where the data was copied from. No other computers can read that data. If that computer died, you will lose all data stored in that enclosure! If I had known of its issue, I wouldn't even buy it for 1/4 of its price. Hopefully, MacOS don't have this issue. I don't have a MacBook, therefore, not tested. The TBU405PROMAX is available on Bolo US, but not on Bolo CA. I wish I had bought it from Bolo so I can return it. :-/- 😢😭😢 After formatting to NTFS, only 14.9TB free space available on RAID0/JBOD/LARGE. I wonder how much space was reserved for SSD Provisioning.....
