  • Directions for Use Cleans and Freshens Around the Home: a. Cleaning - Sprinkle directly onto the metallic or ceramic surfaces and wipe over with sponge or cloth. b. Sparkling - Pour small amount of water in equal quantities of bi carbonate of soda and table salt and wipe of the surface. c. Deodorising - 1. Sprinkle bicarbonate of soda on carpet or upholstery overnight or at least 1 hour, then vacuum leave fresh smells, but test colorfastness before use. 2. For waste bins, dust bins, pet litter trays. 3. Remove packet top and place back of fridges. 4. Pour 2-3 table spoon of soda with equal quantity of white vinegar and flush with hot water after 10 minutes.

    I have been using bicarbonate of soda as a laundry powder for a while when my eczema flares up. I haven’t been using it to clean around the house; so Krisp’s Bicarb pack came with some cleaning revelations for me. I mixed it with some water into a paste and cleaned my combination microwave/ oven. The paste made light work of some burnt on remains (that were basically carbon) and left my microwave smelling of nothing when done. Cleaning the paste up was just a question of more water and scrubbing. It’s not as effortless as a strong cleaning agent – but equally doesn’t require extra ventilation and safety gloves. It did the job well; didn’t leave the surface scratched. It’s a small box for the price; but I did use a cup in my laundry and used in a cycle with some scratchy towels it cleaned them up nicely. The pack recommends some cleaning choices with white vinegar, which is how I used it in my washing machine. Down the sink in my bathroom, it left the white pipe visibly clean after it was done. So why the 3*; the price is very high for such a small box. If you are looking for a deodoriser for the fridge it is fair; but as a cleaning material its overpriced.

    Nice fine powder that’s food grade quality. Having received an eco cleaning book as a present I’ve been using bicarb as a stain remover and odour remover and found this powder works perfectly.The unlined cardboard container needs to be kept in a dry place or the contents decanted into a moisture proof reusable container.
