5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best headsets I have ever used
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } To be clear, this is the second time I buy this headset, my first pair (purchased 2.5 years ago) started having a few issues (dongle stopped working, volume rocker became finicky, structural crack due to me stupidly sitting on them once). They still sounded amazing but I figured it was worth it to get a second pair.Pros:- Comfort - The most comfortable headset I have ever used and it isn't even close. There is no compromise here, these are beefy cans with very deep ear cups. As an owner of big ears, I'm very particular about this detail; anything too shallow will produce a burning sensation on my ear lobes after about 20 minutes of wear. Not only are the ear cups deep, the materials used are stellar; faux leather cups with a velvet contact point (where the cup meets the ear), additionally covering the driver itself is another memory foam layer ensuring even more comfort. The headband is plush and well constructed with just enough clamping force to keep them relatively stable while not inducing headaches.- Sound - Fantastic sound profile. I'm not an audiophile by any stretch, but I absolutely love the clarity at every frequency range (probably due to the tri-force driver system). Out of the box I felt the sound felt slightly flat for my liking, after about a minute of EQ modification in Synapse (the companion app) they sounded perfect. Beefy punchy bass (without too much rumble), slightly scooped mids and clear crispy highs.- Haptics - Implementation is fantastic. They respond accurately to a set low-end frequency range and the effect is very pleasing. Whereas the Razer Nari Ultimates (predecessors with haptics) were slightly hit-and-miss in this regard, the Krakens are incredible. When listening to EDM, the experience becomes much more immersive as you actually sense the vibrations on your temples/cheeks. I have mine on the "Low" setting as that is more than enough stimulus and doesn't add too much rumble to the mix. During gaming sessions, sensing heavy footsteps and being able to geo-locate enemy players is also a huge advantage.- Build Quality/Looks/RGB - Subjective of course, I do like the "chunky" look however, they are also very well built (a mixture of metal and high-end plastic). The implementation of RGB is gorgeous, can be set to a cycling, breathing or static colour mode in the Synapse chroma app.- Battery Life - Decent, especially considering the usage of haptics. I don't feel I'm getting the advertised time, however a good 9 hours is still pretty great considering haptics being on, perhaps around 30 hours if no haptics are used.- Wireless Audio/Wireless Range/Latency - The wireless audio definitely doesn't feel as if it's a compromise; I've tried it both wireless and with the 3.5mm audio cable and am hard-pressed to notice any difference. As for the range, nothing too crazy, I do feel I can go downstairs and get something from my kitchen while my laptop stays upstairs without much trouble which is always nice. There is no noticeable latency to speak of. Everything (especially during gaming) is instantaneous and behaves as if wired.Cons:- No Bluetooth connectivity - The ability to connect and seamlessly switch back and forth between gadgets is missing here, would have been a nice-to-have.- Mic - Average, not bad and not great either. I've tried the Razer Blackshark v2 Pro (2023 edition) and that was by far and large the best in-built headset mic I've ever used. I returned them as the aforementioned ear-cups were simply not deep enough and made the headset uncomfortable for me.- Haptics can't be used while charging - This is a small gripe, but a gripe nonetheless.I wouldn't have bought these a second time if I didn't think they were fantastic, and at 149gbp, they are offering a whole lot for the money. Fantastic and clear sound, immersive and very-well implemented haptics and they're ridiculously comfortable. Very hard to go wrong here.
5.0 out of 5 stars Razer Headphones
I've been using Razer gear for few years now, despite what people say nothing from them has ever failed me, always top quality works perfectly fine, no need to set up anything just plug and use unless you enjoy messing around with settings which there are plenty
5.0 out of 5 stars Phenomenal
This headset was absolutely phenomenal amazing top gaming headset well worth the price it's really comfy to and the sound is amazing you can hear a lot through this best headset in my opinion Many thanks much appreciated 😀👍🏼
4.0 out of 5 stars Let's get ready to rumble!
The standout selling point of the headset are the haptics, which Razer labels as 'Sensa HD'. The technology is no joke. There are two settings for PC players, which includes Sensa HD Haptics and audio-to-haptics. The former being a developer curated experience, with Silent Hill 2, Final Fantasy XVI and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 amongst those games supported. The audio-to-haptics being a real-time conversion which more than impresses. The OLED control hub which comes with the headset allows limited customisation. Aside from adjusting side-tone level, everything else can be adjusted on the headset. You can switch on-the-fly between 2.4Ghz wireless, Bluetooth and simultaneous with a voice prompt from a female voice. In terms of haptics, you have several choices: low, medium, high or off. Low or medium are more suitable. You have further customisation in the delivery between controlled, balanced, dynamic and custom. Controlled focuses upon bass, balanced speaks for itself, and dynamic can get crazy immersive. I find the latter can get a bit fatiguing in games, but a lot of fun when listening to music. I tend to opt for balanced in most scenarios, along with low setting. In Bluetooth mode, I put the haptics through its paces listening to various content and music. Haptics set to low, dynamic, I watched the opening scene to Top Gun: Maverick. Words can't truly describe the experience. It was like I was back at the cinema. The haptics are so tactile and precise. The haptics behave themselves to compliment the music.I was somewhat sceptical of the haptic feedback, expecting a buzzing on my ears. It is far more nuanced than that. On high setting, it's definitely too much. In games, the haptics really shine. Suddenly the laser blasts in Star Wars Outlaws have far more impact. The environmental detail and thudding of robot dinosaurs in Horizon Forbidden West brings the game to life. It truly is an immersive experience like no other.Comfort & buildWeighing in at 397g, they're nowhere near as heavy as the Audeze Maxwell, or as lightweight as the Razer Kraken V4 at 350g. It's a stocky, good-looking headset, with metal forks and premium materials adding to the weight. The headband has thick padding and the ear cushions are plush, protein leather. The ear cushions are removable, so the fabric ear cushions from the regular V4 will fit. The ear cushions don't get as sweaty as other leatherette ear pads I've used. The headband can become uncomfortable over extended use. Not the most comfortable headset. The OLED control hub has a good build, but doesn't have as many customisation options. You can't create your own custom EQ via the control hub. The 9 zone RGB lighting on each earcup looks attractive, if that's your thing. I couldn't find an option to disable (to save battery) on either the headset or control hub, so I contacted Razer. On PS5 you are stuck with the RGB lighting, unless you have access to a PC and Razer Synapse 4. A strange oversight. The battery life is advertised at 50 hours (without RGB and haptics) but only 12-15 hours when enabled. The intensity of those settings will also impact performance. So low, controlled haptics will extend battery life.Audio performanceThere are 4 EQ options available on the headset (including a button to switch between). Game, movie, music and custom. The latter being only applicable if you have access to Razer Synapse 4. The game EQ essentially removes the bass, movie elevates the bass, but removes the mids. Music adheres to the Harman curve much more, and is easily the best preset. The headset is a warm sounding headset with plenty of detail. The bass really packs a punch, irrespective of the haptics. It doesn't have the soundstage of the Nova Pro Wireless, which can sound like you're inside a cave. The bio-cellulose drivers do a great job with clarity and directional audio. Some headsets can feel like the audio is inside your head. You don't get any of that. There's texture detail in the bass and the highs are well presented. PS5 is renowned for headsets being not loud enough. The Kraken V4 Pro are more than loud enough on PS5.SummaryThere are various competing technologies and a lot to consider when purchasing a gaming headset. The price being a major factor. The retractable mic quality of the V4 Pro is average, though I've had no complaints when communicating.Overall, I am mostly happy with my purchase, albeit I paid more than I would have liked. At £300, this headset would be a no-brainer. The premium quality, detailed audio and added immersion from the haptics. Although the headset works great on PS5, there are added features should you play on PC. I didn't feel like I was missing out too much. But it will be a factor for some gamers. The comfort of the headband may be an issue for some. The clamping force is slightly stronger than I prefer.

Excellent
I spent hours searching for the right headset for mySon. He uses when gaming on his PS5. I was going to buy the JBL ones, as I know the brand. After extensive research, I kept seeing this make and I am pleased I bought it. Apparently it is a well known brand with gamers. My son says the sound quality is clear and of excellent quality.
Gutes Headset zum günstigen Preis.
Sehr gutes Klinkenheadset.
