Great! Brought after buying a bread machine and has been a lifesaver rather than different sized slices! It is much more functional and easy to use and size can be adjusted for different loaves. Only downside I would say is where to store it as it doesn’t fold away but as we use regularly I don’t think we’d need to find a place to store it anyway. Easy to clean too. Would recommend for those baking their own bread.

Ok so got this today, easy to put together, fits my home made bread maker bread so thats fine - first rooky mistake, I cut the loaf all the way through. This left cut marks on the plastic boarding, so next time, as the title suggests, the trick will be to cut almost all the way through and finish off on a wooden board so there arent any slivers of plastic in the bread.Also when it came to cleaning this, hmmm - not easy to towel dry. I have laid mine out on my clothes rack over night so all the tiny little nooks and crannies dry out properly.All in all - great for thick slices of bread (no adjusting at all but I knew that when I ordered it), great for different thicknesses of the actual loaf as it holds the bread securely whilst cutting.

You know what it's like.You bake your bread, you take it out of the machine, marvel at how it looks and smells, and then proceed to ruin the whole thing when cutting it."Too thick", "too thick", "too thin", "thick on top, thin on bottom" and "what the hell is that!".As far as the job goes, this DOES do the trick of getting even slices. So why only three points?I took one off for the height of the sides. With anything less than a small loaf. the sides don't come up far enough. You can still manage it. You just have to start the cut diagonally with the blade in the far side and use your eyes over the 2nd slot to ensure you bring it down in the right place.The second star off is because the slides are a bit flimsy. Manageable, but they wobble a bit.I would also recommend a bread knife with a blade longer than 8 inches. When you're doing your sawing motion unless you're really careful, the handle catches the near side and the far end of the blade comes in too far, then when you push it back it catches the side rather than go through the slot.This isn't the bread slicer's fault, just something to note.All that considered, it does do the job.

The bread slicer was easy to put together and reasonably sturdy. Having read some of the other reviews, I made sure when cutting into the bread, I stopped before the bottom of the loaf so not to cut any of the plastic guide. I then finished the cutting off on a chopping board. The bread slices are a suitable thickness for us. There is no option to make them thinner, only thicker. I did have to hold the bread in place, so it didn't move. It works well for what I wanted and with some practice will become easier to use. The bread we use is from a bakery.
