Its fairly big and bulk so not easily portable and the fans are loud but is a necessary evil. The controls are easy to use and the LED lights are a nice touch. The foam actually held my 17" laptop in place.Does what it says!
4.0 out of 5 stars does what It says on the tin
wow it pays to spend a little more good quality product well made works great
5.0 out of 5 stars Good laptop cooler
Hubby uses this to keep his gaming laptop cool. Does the job, and is not too noisy.
3.0 out of 5 stars A cooling pad that actually seems to make a measureable difference.
I have a new MSI Stealth laptop that loves nothing more than to thermal throttle in heavy gaming sessions. These laptop manufacturers do love to push for ever thinner builds leaving the heat nowhere to go! So, I was casting around for something to help with the situation when I came across these positive air pressure models from Klim.I'm normally pretty sceptical about fan mats as I've seldom seen much improvement with them before. Klim's solution is putting an airtight(ish) seal around the base and pushing air through the laptop via its bottom grills. Cutting to the chase, with the Klim Everest pad on full power, the laptop is taking longer to throttle, and cools off much quicker the moment the load is reduced. You can really feel the extra air spilling out of the vents on the laptop too. It's not a game-changing result, but it's noticeably eased the issue and is very welcome. On a playthrough of Far Cry 6 on very high settings I've seen a real improvement in the laptop's ability to keep to 75fps on 4K when before I'd be seeing throttling losses down to the mid-low 60s.The fans on the Klim Everest are quite powerful on full blast but not overly loud. Certainly they are not anything like as loud as my built in laptop fans on 100% which sound like a vacuum cleaner, so the less time I have to spend listening to them is definitely a win!Depending on the game and its demands on your hardware, you could sit the Klim at a middle fan setting and it's reasonably quiet. Doing windows tasks on a low fan setting and you'll forget the fan is even on!So, on to the design of the mat itself...Away from its pictures on Bolo, the appearance of the Klim Everest did not impress quite frankly. It's big and tacky looking in its kids-toy-silver livery. The plastic build feels cheap and the design lacks charm. It's also quite bulky and although not heavy, its size prevents portability. My sleek MSI resting on it looks like a gazelle on top of an elephant. The 4 strips of coloured LED lights strung around the base feel like an afterthought and do nothing to increase the appeal. So, if you're style conscious about your gaming set up - this may not be a good look for you. Personally I'm all about results so I don't much care! The foam mat the laptop rests on is held in place by some poorly fitting magnetic buttons and doesn't feel robust or secure. However it seems to hold in place with the laptop weight resting on it no problem so maybe I'm being a little too judgemental. I've had no issues with the laptop sliding around which bedevils some other cooling pads. There are plastic flaps to stick over the intake vents to stop already hot air expelled from the laptop finding its way back in, but these are literally just plug-in plastic squares shoved in the box, rather than properly fitted to the unit. It feels like a bit of a design fudge - like nobody thought of this potential problem until just before the product got released. This plastic chonker of a pad cost me 40 quid, which I feel OK about given it's doing what I need it to do. I'd not be pleased if I were paying more though as the build quality simply does not justify higher prices. I don't yet know how gracefully the pad will age. If it keeps on running well though, I can cautiously recommend this pad to you as a credible, if not altogether graceful solution to overheating! As the product states, make sure you do have air vents on the underside of your laptop before you buy this product or it'll do diddly squat. If you only have small underside vents it may also not be worthwhile.
1.0 out of 5 stars Fan developed fault after 8 months.
The media could not be loaded. Not even a year and it’s developed a fault. Crazy loud fan noise started about 2 months ago but once moved it would go away, now it doesn’t and has become unusable.
5.0 out of 5 stars Actually dropped my temperatures for my laptop
Dropped my temperatures down by 10C and really good price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job nicely
Great design a Little noisy but does the job overall worth the money
2.0 out of 5 stars Poor performance
I bought this cooling pad to assist with cooling down my new gaming laptop. It is massively underpowered. I have noticed no help in the cooling as the fans barely blow.I thought this would be a cheaper alternative to some of the more expensive versions available, but it seems it just looks like the pro ones, no better than a cooling pad at circa £20-330, and paying a slight bit more here (£50!) for the looks without performance was a waste of time.Either just get a cheap one just as good so your laptop isn't sitting on an uneven surface, or get a proper one for £120.

Good product but maybe should be cheaper (35-40)
At first, I was very disappointed about the fan power. I put it on max, and I felt like it wasn’t going to be enough at all, but I digressed and tried it with my gaming laptop. I only noticed a 2-3 degrees improvement, and it wasn’t enough for me, especially for the price I paid. I also had to buy a way longer usb a to usb a cord because the one provided was very very short (I wanted to plug the cooler to the wall plug rather than my laptop to relieve my laptop from more strain). Anyway, after I changed some settings on my laptop regarding fans and cpu/gpu output (barely impacting performance or video quality), I noticed a way bigger difference with 9-11 degrees improvement.Tl;drThe stands for the cooling and the storage underneath it for the extra parts are cheap quality and don’t work well. Other than that, when it comes to cooling, it’s a good product for cooling (9-11 degrees improvement after tweaking settings on my laptop without heavily impacting video quality).
Love, Love, Love it!
Love, Love, Love it!!! It's just the right size for a laptop. It's lightweight but works well and is very quiet. It's not heavy on my lap. I'm an author and needed something like this, but I gotta say it's much better than I expected. Truly an Excellent buy! Highly recommend.
