It great on it's own or made into a latte.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality!
I bought this matcha powder because I wanted a high-quality, organic option for my morning lattes, and I’ve been really impressed with it. The color is a vibrant green, which is a great sign of freshness, and the taste is smooth with just the right amount of natural sweetness and earthiness—none of that bitterness you sometimes get with lower-quality matcha. It whisks up beautifully into a frothy drink, whether I’m making a traditional hot tea or blending it into a latte. I’ve also tried adding it to smoothies, and it gives a nice energy boost without the jittery feeling that coffee sometimes causes. Knowing that it’s packed with antioxidants and vitamins like A, folic acid, and iron is an added bonus.Overall, this matcha is definitely worth the price. It’s high quality, organic, and has a great taste, making it a perfect addition to my daily routine. A well-deserved 5 stars!
4.0 out of 5 stars Seems to be decent quality matcha
I'd like to note as someone that is definitely not a matcha expert I can't confirm if this is ceremonial grade so I will just take their word for it, its basically the highest grade you can get hence the pricing of it compared to more basic matcha, admittedly it doesn't have the vibrancy than the few other ceremonial grade matcha had though it is certainly well powdered. The back of the pack is a bit awkward treating it more like a supplement than a tea which is why it has a suggested use section and very basic tea/latte instructions but otherwise you can get the basic idea if you want to use it for its usual use, I would personally use lower grade matcha if I were mixing it into something else but that's just a personal belief. I will also note the nutritional values and vitamins/minerals sections seemed to have mistyped mg as gm but otherwise it checks out.All that said once prepared it does seem to be a decent tasting matcha with no issues being mixed though you do need to mix it well to avoid the result tasting a little powdery still (at least compared to some others). Assuming that the grading is true and the pricing isn't something to do with its rather odd supplement like marketing instead it could be relatively recommendable.
1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I strongly disbelieve that this is ceremonial grade. Cremonial grade is bright green with smooth tea. It tastes more like green tea. The bright green matcha tea is from another brand with a cheaper cost while the dullish green from this brand.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very yummy
Delicious matcha that is actually as good of a quality as it advertises, would buy again it is very good.
5.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional
This is some really exquisite stuff here. You can tell from the second you get the packet in your hands and crack it open that this is some really high quality matcha. As I understand it, the variety of matcha from Uji Kyoto is renowned for it quality and I have to agree with that. I've tried many matchas before, and have found there to be a lot of variation in the quality, but this has an almost universal score for texture, flavour, colour and aroma. The taste of it is wonderful, though it is one of those things that is quite selective. People either love it or hate it, but I absolutely love this. It mixes in really effectively too, no forming big clumps or taking ages to absord like some coarser grains that I've had in the past. Also 50g may not sound like much in a pack as I've heard of other people saying its too expensive for the amount you get, but you only use about half a teaspoon (about 1-2g) per cup of tea. In that context you can see that you actually get quite a lot with this.Really the only possible complaint that I have with this is that the packet can be quite difficult to scoop out of once it gets to the bottom of the pack. I'd recommend this with all of the enthusiasm I can! If you want to try matcha properly this is the one to start with.
5.0 out of 5 stars Tastes sweeter with cool water, and more astringent with hot water.
This matcha is a few levels above standard matcha, it's labelled as ceremonial, but most of them say that online. It's got that same vibrant green colour, and super fine powdery texture which goes everywhere when you open the pouch. The powder blends easily into both hot and cold drinks with minimal clumping, if it does clump I just keep mixing or shaking and it seems to dissolve. It has a sweet, fresh taste like most green teas. I think the flavour profile is more 'ceremonial' than the normal matchas and green tea powders I have, but only slightly.I use it both in hot water like a normal green tea and in smoothies, I don't always sift, but sifting offers the best consistency. While the original pouch, I keep mine in a tin to preserve freshness and make it easier to use since it always blows out of the pouch. The added vitamins are a thoughtful touch but I would have preferred it without.Update: After trying it some more, I noticed that water temperature really affects the taste, cool water brings out the natural sweetness more than hot water and avoids the astringent feeling.
3.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive matcha
This is very inexpensive, and costs around a third of what I usually pay for the same amount of real ceremonial matcha. The reason for the low price soon becomes apparent when drinking the tea on its own. It is quite bitter and astringent, and not in any way smooth or well-rounded. However, it's perfect for use in iced lattes, where the milk offsets its less than desirable qualities. My preferred way of using this matcha is Thai-style: dissolve 2 tsp of matcha in 350ml of hot water (not boiling), then add it to a tall glass with lots of ice. Stir in around 2 tablespoons of condensed milk, and 4 tablespoons of evaporated milk. Drink immediately. Delicious!Overall, while far from being the best matcha I've had, for the price (£9.99 at the time of this review), it's not bad. While I wouldn't advise drinking on its own, I'm happy to recommend it for shakes, lattes, and cooking.
