This is undoubtedly a lovely piece of plastic, heavy, strong and sturdy, well machined, but I’m not convinced by it.The block seems to be designed to fit the “groove” edge of engineered boards so you can tap them up tight when clicking them together. This has to be done very carefully so as not to damage the edge so the next board fits nicely. There are two types of edge on the tapping block, one deeper than the other.I recently laid 28sq metres of flooring and another 33sq metresfrom a different manufacturer (I help out in my partner’s interior design business). This tapping block didn’t fit or key in well with the edge on either type. When I sit the block flat on the board the sharp lip would damage the edge (see pic B), when I position the block so the edge is in the groove, it doesn’t sit flat on the boards (pic A). Neither is ideal and no better than a simple rectangular tapping block I got free from Ikea many years ago when they were giving away tool kits with their flooring.The sides of the block end abruptly and are very sharp - I worried about these sharp ends leaving digs in the board.I used the block some of the time, but couldn’t use it where a harder knock was required and always ended up resorting back to the very best knocking block of all - a sacrificial bit of the same batch of flooring, marked with a huge X in black marker pen.I’ll hang on to this - it may come in handier in some other jobs in future, but as it stands I’d have been disappointed had I paid full price for it.

This really helped with fitting my laminate flooring. Be careful to use the correct side for your flooring as there are two thicknesses. I recommend this 👍🏻👍🏻
