Lovely design that doesn't rub off in a few weeks of using as I expected it to. Cork has a lovely natural shade as well so fits in with lots of colour schemes.The cork is good and thick and provides a solid protective base for hot pans and for plates when used as table mats too. This is what we are using them for now. I put hot plates straight from the oven on the table mats and these protect our table from damage.The texture of the cork mats also stops plates from slipping (not a mm) so your plate isn't skating about the table like with the plastic ones we just binned.The cork surfaces are easy to wipe clean with a kitchen cloth and come up like new. I haven't tested them by spilling foods that naturally stain as you can appreciate.As the mats are so sturdy I'd say they are a very good price. If there was a larger diameter version I'd buy them in a heartbeat. Other than that, just what we wanted.
