It's pretty much plug and play and I like that it's portable as it lends itself to more frequent usage. I wanted something to pique his curiosity in science ... though he's mostly looking at the sofa fabric and the dog :-) Though I do expect it will be something he will use for years to come. Very happy with the device and how easy it is to get started.

Amazing little microscope! Really easy to use and the camera is great. It comes with some little things to try, but you can take the lid off and check other things. Perfect for adventures!

The quality is outstanding. It's light and easy to use so the kid won't be frustrated.I chose this product because it has a very wide range zooming and it really delivered. Also I wanted to have a cellphone free activity, so the fact that it has its own HD screen was on my top picks. The quality of the image is really good. I can't wait to take it to the beach.Even though it's a toy, it's really well made and you have to take it out for airport security just as you would for a laptop.Value for the money is really good

Why did you choose this product over others?:Great for any child interested in our natural world. Bought for my four granddaughters for Christmas and another recently for a wildlife competition prize.Really good quality easy to handle and great surprises in stall for the kids.

Bought for a grand nephew who reportedly became fully engaged with it. We saw it worked first, and the screen resolution was impressive and it could take pictures. Having tried a handheld optical scope, this scope fed into the world of images and could benefit from low light sensitivity. However it fared in the later life, it had done it's job, probably for his brothers also..

Lovely little thing, my son loves it! It took a little while for him to figure out how to focus on things but once he mastered it he couldn’t put it down! Nice size and pretty durable too, he’s dropped it several times and it’s absolutely fine.

This is for a 6 year old's birthday in a couple of months so, on taking it out of the box to check it over, it seems like the magnification is more like 50x-100x. The blurb does say that further magnification is possible but I'm sceptical.On the plus side, I didn't realise that it came with a memory card and can record pictures /video. It also comes with a neck strap and sturdy looking carry case.In summary, it's a decent toy for a youngster without breaking the bank.

Excellent zoom range, portable and great value
I looked at lots of microscope options for my 9 year old grandson before selecting this one. It’s portable so he can study nature close up, is easy to operate and has the big advantage of being able to take both pictures and videos to upload.I think it is good value for a mid level microscope

Totally worth it
For the price and quality, 100% worth every penny. I bought this as a present for my 8yr old daughters birthday and she hasn't taken it off all day. The quality in pictures and video mixed with her level of excitement had made this hers, and my, favorite gift this year for her.
