5.0 out of 5 stars Good 1st drone
Got this for.my hubby's birthday. We knew nothing about drones and this does what it says on the tin. Easy to follow instructions and fun to use. Very good value for the price. Would recommend.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great build quality and enormous amounts of fun
This is my first drone so I wasn’t really sure what to expect or indeed have anything to compare this to, so my ramblings below are based on my experiences, thoughts and impressions having had the pleasure of playing with this drone over the last four weeks.First of all, the basics. I can see from looking around that drones can vary and range in price from cheap and cheerful to almost ludicrous amounts of money depending what features and functionality you are after. I would place this drone in the budget price ranging although it’s certainly no cheap child’s plaything. I was pleasantly surprised and actually rather impressed with the quality of the drone itself and, as far as I am able to ascertain from all external components, it appears to be made of good quality parts and materials. For me, that’s essential, as with no experience flying these things, I don’t mind telling you that I certainly tested its strength and durability with more than a few crashes early on in my ownership - lol.The drone itself comes supplied in a neat and compact little carry case and you are given two rechargeable batteries to help with longevity in play. The batteries are a proprietary type though so you can’t just chuck in a set of AA’s when it’s time to replace them. Each battery is good for around 15 minutes of flight time, and to be fair, after half an hour of play (with both batteries in use) I found I had come to the point where I had had some fun and was happy to retire this quick little gizmo back to its case whilst I recharged the batteries for another day. The remote control used to pilot your drone feels a little more cheaply made but does the job intended with no issues. The drone comes equipped with a UHD 4K resolution camera and can take both photos and video. It employs a 110 degree wide angle lens so you can get some good shots and footage using this system. Images can be viewed via your smartphone or you can choose to add an SD directly to the drone and then download and review images at a later point. What’s clever here is that the remote control has a built in dock for your phone to sit in so you can easily see images whilst keeping an eye on your controls. What I will say though is that learning to control this beast has, at least through my ownership, a bit of a learning curve to it, so don’t be expecting to be an expert straight out of the box. Fortunately take off and landing can be controlled via a single one key system which basically means the system does it for you. This was a godsend and undoubtedly saved me from piloting this thing into the floor or a bush etc.The drone employs and uses a powerful brushless motor and genuinely, this option is far quieter than other drones I have heard before but obviously isn’t completely silent so there is still some operational noise but it’s definitely a lot less noise than I was expecting. It’s pretty stable in flight although when hovering it does get buffeted around in windier conditions. I should imagine that’s quite usual though and in a mild wind it holds reasonably steady. as I have already mentioned, learning to control your new drone takes a bit of practice but it’s not too hard to master the basics after a few days. I would suggest that even younger children could learn to control this with a bit of patience and understanding, although this is not really suited for very young children. I would estimate an age group of 8 - 10 plus would probably be realistic but use your own discretion and judgement here.Overall I happen to think that this is a really good beginners package. Everything has been well thought out and designed, equally well manufactured and is a huge amount of fun to play with. I can’t really find anything to fault or dislike about this product at all and I would be more than happy to recommend it to anyone. A great drone system offered at a very fair and affordable price. Perfect!
5.0 out of 5 stars Impressive for a non-gps drone
The media could not be loaded. I've got uite a bit of drone flying experience over the last few years and I'm a registered drone pilot with Operator and Flyer ID. Whilst I have a few DJI drones, I also like to play with the toy ones in the garden and local park, as well as these in-between drones, which are clearly beyond being toys, but don't quite meet the professional level due to limited flying range, etc.I can quite happily say that this is one of the better non-toy drones that I've had the pleasure of flying.Firstly, you notice the brushless motors, which really make a difference on a drone. These are really responsive and, as my video shows, you get a nippy reaction in top speed mode. The optical flow is also impressive on this. Non-gps drones tent to drift in a slight breeze, but it's done a good job on this, with barely any movement from the wind. Later in my video, you see it hovering and remaining in place. There's 2 batteries included, which are 1600mAh. These will give a decent run time. The camera is also really good for a budget drone. Photos are clear, as well as video. I took a screenshot from the app, which shows the on screen data and the image. You can even move the camera up and down via the controller. The controller is a fairly bulky design, but it's responsive controls are good. The buttons are easy to understand and it uses the standard type 2 modes. The range is only 100m, but that's on par with most other non-GPS drones. For what you'll use this for, it's probably more than enough.I like that you have red and green lights on the drone too.The batteries take a little time to charge due to the size, however they work well and the modular design makes it easy to swap them over.Overall, I'm really pleased with this and can definitely recommend it. It even has a decent case to carry it around in, with slots inside for everything.
Works
Works fine for beginners
Pretty fun for a low cost.
This drone is loaded with cool features and won’t cost you a fortune, plus it flies really well. It’s compact but handles light to moderate winds like a pro. The controls are spot-on for a drone in this price range, and it’s pretty sturdy too. It has different speed settings, and in the top mode, it really takes off. The auto stability control is solid, especially when the wind picks up.I wouldn’t say it’s for professionals since the video feed can be a bit shaky at times, but for the price, it’s super fun and would make a great gift since it comes in a nice box.
Folding drone with case
So I must say iv been quite impressed with this drone its very reasonably priced for all the high tech features it flies very well an for its size it doesn't do bad in lite to moderate wind the controls are very precise for one of this price range an its pretty tough as well I have crashed it fairly hard with no damage I personally have had good luck with the app for camera as well it always connects an does as expected an I have had it close to 100 meters away with good image transmission an the camera also has a zoom feature controlled by phone an it tilts up an down using the controller which is a nice feature as far as performance it has several different speed settings an when in faster mode it moves fast it also has auto stability control which works very well to I find that if its breezy out if u put it in faster mode it does much better than ones of equal size that iv had in the past. It also comes with a nice case to keep everything in an includes 2 batteries so overall I would definitely recommend this drone I don't think thers to many better in this price range an so far have been very impressed with this drone
Smooth Performance and Good Photos
The media could not be loaded. WHAT’S INCLUDED:-Hannviw Drone-Remote Control-4 Extra Propellers-2 Batteries-Mini Screw Driver and 2 Mini Screws-Carrying storage case-InstructionsPRODUCT/THOUGHTS:MAX Photo Resolution: 4096x3072pMax Video Resolution: 1280x720pCONSTRUCTION:-This is on the larger size for a drone. The plastic is pretty basic still but it’s also a bit more moderate in durability than many others I've tested. However, it still comes off as very lightweight and you have to be careful flying this in any kind of light wind or even a strong enough breeze-There are no propeller guards so you’ll need to watch what you are doing and turn on obstacle avoidance when necessary-There are 4 LEDs on the bottom. One on each Propeller arm. 2 green and 2 Red to help you identify the front from the back.FEATURES/PERFORMANCE-This drone says it has Brushless motors and it feels quite responsive. No latency issue was experienced, and the motors actually come off to me pretty strong for it’s size. It flies quite smoothly and I was impressed with it.-This one takes really good photos at a photo resolution of 4096x3072 with some decent-quality detail in the image. So I recommend you get the app they instruct you with so you can use that feature.-Unfortunately with the video, It seems to record in only 720p. This was the disappointing part since they have this listed as a 4K camera, which is true but only for the photos. However, the detail in the video for this is better at this resolution than many other drones I’ve used. I’ve included both photos and a video clip to show you what it looks like. (It was a VERY sunny day so there was some sun refraction on the lens at times, and a strong breeze was blowing which was affecting my flying)-You get all the normal functions with this done, like speed adjustment, trimming, headless mode, 360 flipping stunts along with the photo and video taking, Track mode (Flight path), gravity flying, and all that.-The instructions only give you a partial showing of the app features so you’ll have to get it figured out on your own, but it’s not that hard actually. I like doing flight paths but you need to be at a certain altitude since you need a certain amount of airspace for it to work.Summary:I think this drone is pretty good for most beginners and everyone will enjoy using it. I especially like that the overall camera is better quality than a lot of other drones in this cost range. I wish the video recording was at least 1080p though, and if they had used a bit heavier body, it would give it a little more robust to flying in slight breezes. But it performs quite well, is very snappy, and takes good photos if you are into aerial photography. For a beginner drone, it’s a good value.
Great for the price
This drone offers high-tech features at a very reasonable price, and it performs exceptionally well. Despite its compact size, it handles light to moderate wind with ease. The controls are precise for a drone in this price range, and it's pretty tough too. The drone has several speed settings, and it moves quite fast in the highest mode. Its auto stability control is also effective, especially in windy conditions.I wouldn't say this is professional level as sometimes the video feed doesn't stay connected. But for the price its great fun and would be a great gift as it comes in giftable packaging.
