Matcha tea is on a different level. It is made from specially grown and selected green tea leaves that are processed as a powder. Generally, the good stuff comes from a select growing area of Japan. There are various grades / quality of matcha tea, the top quality grade is Ceremonial Matcha tea. You have to be wary when buying it, though, because what is often advertised as Ceremonial is a lower grade and may be more bitter - if it's cheap, it's not Ceremonial!I originally tried this Matcha blend as a sachet from a box of Blendsmiths' Curiosity Collection Box that I'd bought from Blendsmiths - it was one of twelve different blends in the box.The Matcha Green Tea Blend is a sweetened version of the tea, that is added to milk. Think of it as a matcha latte! It is only 30 calories a serving (plus milk). Although sweetened, the taste is not over sweet. I think that the coconut sugar that is used is an improvement over ordinary, cheaper, sugar that is often used in drinks.I wasn't too sure of the taste at first, but as I drank more of it I got to like it. I then bought a 250g box of the Matcha, and this is my second box.Initially, the price pre 250g box may seem expensive compared to their other blends, however the main ingredient is more expensive, plus you do get more servings (30) out of the box, compared to the average 11.If you prefer pure Ceremonial Matcha without the sugar, then Blendsmiths have that as well in a 30 serving tin (search for ASIN B0CPFH967V) I also have this. It is not bitter, unlike some of the so-called matcha teas.

I have tastes this matcha in my local cafe and I loved it straight away that i had to ask for the name. And i ordered mine and now i make great matcha at home every time. Slight sweet flavour with cinnamon. Love it
