The British Army produced over 13,000 vehicles from the 2 ton 4x2 field ambulance from 1940 to the end of World War II. It was a powerful vehicle for auxiliary missions. The vehicle body is based on a civilian light truck, and the Army Medical Corps has independently developed the rear compartment. It contained numerous medical equipment, including benches that could be converted into bunk beds. The field of application was wide and included France, North Africa, Italy and Europe after Normandy. The vehicle has been seen in use not only by the army, but also at air bases across the country.

Bin vor ca. 2 Jahren auf die tollen 1:48 Fahrzeugmodelle von Tamiya aufmerksam geworden und habe mittlererweile einige in meinem Regal stehen. Dieser Brit. Krankenwagen fehlte mir noch und ist wie alle anderen Bausätze von Tamiya super. Tolle Paßgenauigkeit der Teile, sowie eine leichte Verarbeitung....Spitze..!!

Glücklicherweise nichts kaputt gegangen
Über die Qualität von Tamiya-Bausätzen zu sprechen, hieße "Eulen nach Athen zu tragen." Sie ist einfach top. Nur die Kartons sind nicht für Postversand ausgelegt und daher dünnwandig. Daß man Verpackungsmaterial sparen möchte ist ja ok, aber so ganz ohne geht es nicht. Auch wenn Bolo direkt geliefert hat, eine stabilere Umverpackung wäre sicherer gewesen. So muß man sagen: "Glück gehabt, nichts ist kaputt."
