The pullcord kind seem to be problematic for many people and the push kind either get in the way in the bowl of the food being spun or tiny bits of food get caught in the mechanism ,which cannot be unassembled for cleaning. This has a bowl that will not shatter if dropped( like some plastics that are more brittle). It is notched so that the lid stays in place while you are spinning and the locking mechanisms are easy to use. The lid has a plastic screw that allows you to take everything apart when lit bits of food get stuck there. This, as far as I am concerned, has everything. Buy it .
This works great!
My in-laws have been telling me for years that I really needed a salad spinner. I did not realize how much I would like having one! Not only do I use this when cleaning my lettuce but I use it for cleaning other fruits and vegetables also. It is easy to use. I like the crank on the side of it so that I can use the pressure I want when spinning the food. One of the perks of this item is having a separate lid so that I can store my food that I've spined in the bowl. The lid fits tight and is easy to put on. The bowl is big and great for spinning lots. Additionally, I like the inlet on the top that allows me to add water at the same time I'm spinning it. That is such a nice addition. The bowl is a nice quality material. I like that I don't feel like it will shatter and break if it falls to the floor. Great bowl and great addition to my kitchen tools.
Didn't realize how much a spout helps!
Rumor has it if you've seen one salad spinner, you've seen them all. Well, not in this case. Yes, this has all the features you'd expect in a salad spinner - it spins, after all. But the real innovation here is that it has a spout and a place where you can add more water without taking the lid off. Seems minor but it has fundamentally changed my salad spinning lifestyle. We always wash our vegetables 2 or 3 times. In the old days, that meant you would fill up the spinner, put on the cover, spin it, take off the lid, pour out the water, add more water, put lid back on, spin again, etc. With this spinner you just put in the veggies, add water, pop the lid on and spin. When you're done you just pour out the water and add more water without having to take the lid off. I admit this seems like a small thing but trust me, if you're a voracious spinner, you need this salad spinner.
High quality, watch out for the spray
This salad spinner replaces my old cheaply made one, and I love it already. It's sturdily made in three parts, a locking spinner lid, a bowl, and a basket that holds the greener fruit you're going to rinse, plus a stretchy vinyl cover. Unlike my old spinner, the bowl of this model is not perforated. So the first time I used this was surprised and got a little bit wet. Here's, you set the perforated basket in side the bowl, put in the vegetable to be rinsed, then attach the lid, latching it into place. You then run water in to the opening in the lid. Since there are no perforations in the base bowl, all the water accumulates there rather than exiting through the bottom. So when you turn the spinner knob, water starts to spray out an opening in the lid -- with a bit of force. I got used to this pretty quickly, though. The knob is easy to turn, so it's possible to get the greens very dry. You can store rinsed veg in the bowl and cover it with the stretchy vinyl lid. This is a high quality product.
Bulky, lid hard to get on and overpriced
While this is a large capacity salad spinner, the lid is a big difficult to get in and I'm not a huge fan of having to turn the knob - I'd much rather press down. Does seem to do a decent job at drying wet fruits but doesnt get them completely dry. Seems over priced for other comparable ones on the market... I prefer the push down knobs, not ones I have to manually spin. Wouldn't recommend this one
