This is the second X9 4tb that I've purchased, I also have two X6 4tb's as well. Never had a problem with any of them and I use them solely to hold my PC games which all load superfast with no problems whatsoever.You will see a few complaints about these external drives but, when you look closely, the majority are all MAC users. Therefore, maybe their problem is the internal hardware/software of their Macs and not the external drive itself. (in fact they actually have X9 drives specifically for the Mac now )At the end of the day it's a piece of machinery, and machinery does break down from time to time, that's just life.

Surprisingly small and portable SSD, it actually has a smaller footprint than a bank card. Has the same build quality as most other SSD drives at this price range however it exceeds the transfer speeds and overall consistency of competitors.The two screenshots below show the transfer speeds of a 1GB file and a 5GB file with the slower speeds being for the larger file. Generally held up much better than a SanDisk equivalent.Highly recommend the X9 2TB.

I prevaricated about buying this for far too long! One I bought it within weeks it has become indispensable and I would buy another without a second thought. It’s one of those things that its utility far outweighs its purchase price. Considering the first drive I ever installed was 500Mb and took four of us to manhandle into a 19” rack this tiny device is nothing short of sorcery!

Wish I had known about using an SSD to upgrade a very slow Mac 27inch with a standard HDD soonerIt as totally transformed the Mac it’s lightening fast nowVery easy to do using disc utility to format the SDD then using the restore function at boot up to copy the HDD to the new SDD also saves a fortune having the MAC disassembled to install a SATA SSD internallyI then used the old internal HDD as internal storage which is used by the Time Machine function which saves all your data and media contentVery happy with my purchase

When I purchased the Crucial X9, I tested it with CrystalDiskMark and was assured that the write speeds were reasonable. However, with actual use I have found that the write speeds are 1) very inconsistent, and 2) often slower than my original HDD. This is shown in the screenshots which demonstrate the transfer speeds of the same 21 GB of data. The Crucial X9 will sporadically get in the region of 300 - 600 MB/s, however there are prolonged periods of use when I am lucky to see 40 MB/s (at which point it is then slower than my HDD). It performs well enough when transfering small volumes of data, but with large volumes the perfomance is just tragic. The only reason I am not returning is that I disposed of the original packaging shortly after testing with CrystalDiskMark (lesson learned). I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Matizar que lo quiero especialmente para grabar vídeo 6K y 4K con mi cámara Lumix S5II X. Por lo tanto las pruebas están hechas con el formateo de la cámara, que es exfat. NTFS debería dar aún mejor resultado pero no lo he probado (ni lo necesito). Tampoco tengo puertos thunderbolt así que no puedo opinar sobre eso. Es un puerto 3.2 tipo C de hasta 10Gbps*Decir que lo he conectado también a mi Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (antes del formateo con la cámara) y lo ha leído a la primera como una unidad más sin hacer nada. Así que fabuloso si quieres meter alguna peli para un viaje largo.En Exfat arroja 670/650 MBps sostenidos. Probado transfiriendo un archivo pesado de 50Gb. Que ha durado literalmente un par de minutos.La cámara ha leído bien el disco que es lo que me importaba, y marca grabación en 4K 4:2:2 a 150Mbps de 13h. 6k 4:0:0 10h. Así que sobrado en ese sentido.Estuve pensando en el Sandisk Extreme o en el Samsung T7 shield. Más caros por la resistencia al agua y polvo que no necesito de momento. Y en velocidad me ofrecían lo mismo. Así que me he ahorrado un dinero.El otro modelo con el que compite es el pequeñísimo Kingston XS1000. El problema es que este trae USB A y mi cámara usa tipo C, por lo que tenía que comprar un cargador aparte que encarecen el producto. La versión XS2000 si incluye cable tipo C a C que es lo que busco pero sube de precio y no necesito esa velocidad.El cable algo cort. He podido colocarlo en la zapata de la cámara sobre un soporte universal de Neweer, colocándolo del lado donde está la conexión llega algo justo pero sin forzar las conexiones y queda bien. Recomiendo siempre usar el cable del SSD si quieres tener las velocidades indicadas, o fijarse bien en la categoría (3.2; 3.2 x2; o thunderbolt) si necesitas más metros de cable.PROS:•Extremadamente pequeño. Mide apenas 6 X 4 cm.•Barato.•Suficientemente rápido.•Bonito.•No se calienta más allá que cualquier otro.•MemoriaCONTRAS:•Material de plástico.•Cable un pelín justo según el uso que le des.Y poco más, un pequeño gran compañero de batallas a partir de ahora. Por supuesto lo volvería a comprar.

I purchased two Crucial X6 4TB Portable SSD HDs back in December of 2022 and I couldn't be more pleased with their performance. As someone who travels around the world for work, I rely on these drives to store all my important files and media. One drive is dedicated to my work files, while the other is for my entertainment needs, holding hundreds of TV series and movies that I can easily access from my MacBook or iPad thanks to the USB C connection and the high speed at which these drives run.One of the things I love about these drives is their durability. With no moving parts, I feel extremely confident that they will last a long time. I personally purchased the L LTGEM EVA Hard Storage Case for these drives, and they fit perfectly, with two drives per case. I've dropped and knocked these drives a few times, but they still work perfectly.In fact, I'm so impressed with these drives that I'm about to purchase four more to backup all my family photos, videos, and special files, which I will keep locked away in my fireproof safe. That's how confident I am in their quality.Overall, I highly recommend the Crucial X6 4TB Portable SSD HDs. Their size is amazing, and the speed is blazing fast, making them perfect for video editing. And speaking of size, I love that I can put one of these 4TB drives in my shirt pocket when I'm in the office and take it from conference room to conference room without even noticing the weight.In conclusion, these drives are amazing, and I can't recommend them enough.
