We have a diesel car - with hindsight this was a mistake as we don't do enough miles any more to benefit from a diesel engine since our annual mileage is only about 10,000. We also have to use Ad-Blue to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. You're supposed to get about 600 miles running from a litre of Ad-Blue, we don't get anything like that, maybe that's because we need an additive to improve the performance of the additive?I'm not totally sold on the idea, though because Ad-Blue is basically distilled water and urea (no idea of the percentage) I understand why it crystallises - it's the same principle as gout where urate crystals accumulate in joints causing pain. So I guess this is help prevent 'gout' in cars?You're supposed to add a bottle of Ad-Protect to the Ad-Blue tank every time you fill up with Ad-Blue - currently that's about every 8-9 weeks or about six times per year, and at a cost of £9.49 per 125ml bottle (as at 11 September 2023) that's almost £60 per year additional running costs. Is it worth it? In all honesty I have no idea - I'll try it at next Ad-Blue top up and measure carefully the time and distance before next top to get a gauge on it then will update review. The jury's out on this one.

I added crystallization preventer to the Adblue tank of my SEAT Alhambra and whether it will remove crystals already present in the exhaust system is yet to be seen. But the crystals residue formed around the Adblue tank neck were removed easily with a cloth dampened with Wynns’ AdBlue tank crystallization preventer. The crystals didn’t appear again a few days later. It’s gone.
