I have a very accurate weighing scale which measures to 1/100th of a gram.In the past, I had no way of calibrating it, to see if it was measuring accurately.These weights allowed me to check this...You have an opportunity, using different combinations of the weights to see if when you use 1 weight, whether it agrees with what it is supposed to, but also if you use two (or more) weights you can see if the combination of weights gets the same final weight when you compare theoretical and measured weights.The set has a 10g hanger, along with a 10g disc, 2x 20g discs, 2x 50g discs, and a single 200g disc.According to my measuring scale, the 10g & 20g weights were very accurate at less than 0.1g out, whereas the 50g and 200g weights were closer to 0.2 - 0.3g out. That's still pretty accurate, and good enough for my use.You might also use it in balancing experiments and play.It comes in a nice blue storage box. Recommended.

This set of precision weights are very heavy and solid looking. It is difficult to say what the weights are made from. They look shiny and smooth, like stainless steel, but that is probably not the case, since the manufacturer says they are made of iron. Nevertheless, it is claimed the iron is a rust resistant type. That is important because if and when weights rust, they undergo a small change in weight. If you want long-term accurate weighing it is necessary that the weights are non-corrosive.There are 6 weights and a hooked hanger in the set, which come in a blue plastic storage box. They all fit snuggly into the box. The weights are 1 x 200g. 2 x 50g. 2 x 20g. and 1 x 10g. Which means you can weight up to 350g in 10g intervals. 10g gaps in weighting is probably too much for precision weighing, which would need to go down to 1g or ideally even less, so if you need to weigh more accurately, you will need extra small denomination weights. However, if you are weighing by a balanced beam system, the balance usually displays the smaller range for you. I personally, have a balanced beam weighing machine, so these weights are perfect and I need no others.The weights are circular in shape and have slots in them, which mean they slide onto the hanger easily and moderately securely. The hanger rod has two thicknesses, so the 5 heavier weights lock onto the hanger shaft and will not slide off, until you lift them upwards. That is a very useful feature. However, the smallest weight, ie: the 10g one, does slide on and off easily and so you will have to be careful when placing it. Of course, the weight of the hanger is extra, and if you are using that you will need to adjust the balance to zero to compensate for the extra hanger weight. It may sound complicated, but it is all very easy after you use the weights once or twice.
