5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly surprised, but you need to have access to good content
Warning: Not an Android TV in the UK! I was aware of this before my purchase, but some people will come across reviews/videos which show this Tv with Android - this is for international markets. This one has Vidaa OS (limited app selection - e.g. no Spotify) , can't side-load apps, etc.. if you don't know what this means then don't worry! It's a great TV.Sound is way better than what you find on most standard TVs with its built-in sub. Lots of sound options to suit most viewing experiences. Picture quality is great with regular streamed/broadcast content, really shines when you play 4K HDR - some good content in Dolby Atmos can be found on streaming services ("House of Mouse"+ has a few to get you started.Freely (UK Freeview replacement) is easy to use, defaults to the HD version of channels - much better than any of the Freeview initiatives that have come before, I hope more manufacturers start migrating to this.Vidaa OS is very smooth, very few hiccups, just works. There are ads here and there, but that is pretty standard now.Remote control CHARGES, via USB-C or solar! App available for Android and iOS devices to launch TV apps and has a built-in remote. All in all I have has a great experience with this over the last month, would recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great tv for a great price!
I'm not an expert on types of tv. I saw this on Bolo then went to Curry's to check them out. Hisense tvs are far cheaper than their rivals but with similar specs. For a similar one in a Sony Bravia it was 1.5k.When it came the hardest thing in setting it up was getting it out of the box! It was easy to get it working though. U may have to jiggle with settings to get the right picture a sound. When I watched a series in UHD I was amazed! The picture was unbelievably clear! HD channels are great too.For me I thought the sound is ace. Apparently it has 2 subwoofers, whatever they are? But compared to my old Sony Bravia it blows it out of the water! The only thing that slightly let's it down is if u view it from an acute angle, the picture gets a bit paler.Experts on TVs may find things wrong with it but I think it's great! Proper good value for money!
5.0 out of 5 stars Spectacular for the price.
Pound for pound, literally spectacular.Arrived quickly and in perfect condition. The ease of setup is childsplay. The remote is very simple to use with pictures on the buttons so even my wife can use it.Setup and ready to go, drumroll for the picture quality.I play virtually everything through a sky stream puck on 150mb broadband so it should do just fine, and for just over £400, boy does it deliver. No matter how bright the room is, the picture is crisp and clear with fantastic colour definition.Although the speakers aren't massive from an output point of view, the sound is clear.Do not think the price is reflective of the quality, it's worth every penny and will put more expensive options to shame.I'm restricted by size due to a housing it needs to fit into and the 50 inch works perfectly.Don't procrastinate, go for it.
4.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars for TV and 3 stars for Amazon.
Bolo. Ordered on Friday, TV delivered free of charge on Sunday (with or without Prime – same delivery). Glad that the TV was well packed to survive all the cuts and bruises during the delivery. The Bolo delivery guys cared more how to leave as fast as possible rather than abt the TV.If you install it on a higher floor than your ground floor (like me) I advise you to measure carefully if it fits through the stairs and landing. I wanted to buy 98” or 100” (the latter was just £100 extra for the same Hisense model!), but after I practised with a cut-out cupboard I realised that it will not fit unless I cut the ceiling (which I was not allowed to).The biggest disappointment with Bolo however was that the price offered was the same as other retailers, but little did I know that one other retailer provides free 5 year warranty, while when bought from Bolo it is a standard 2 years. Hisense helpline advised that extended 5 years warranty applies only when purchased from that retailer (their Sales Rep failed to mention this to me, which cost him the sale!). This was the biggest disappointment buying from Bolo.TV. Overall, very good quality, but not 5 stars due to the dirty screen effect abt 10-15 cm wide vertical edges on the both sides of the screen. The rest is pretty good in terms of picture quality, sound, connectivity, applications, etc. I did not notice much blooming, which is quite small and you have to look for it. The picture appearance needs to be adjust for different type of input, especially if watching HDR 4k YouTube videos, which enable many setting parameters that otherwise are greyed out on other inputs. I disabled AI adaptation feature because I found it annoying when the picture (say, person’s face) automatically changes its appearance during the same movie scene. Lastly, a very annoying pop up Energy Efficiency Notice every time you press the Picture settings. There are many positive reviews online of this model and I agree with them, except one – sound quality. The reviewers and especially Sales Reps were telling that this TV needs a soundbar because the built in speakers are rubbish. In my opinion, they are great and do the job lovely. I can enhance bass booster in the settings and in my view no need for extra sound system. To note, my TV is not a wall fixed, but free standing 20-30 cm from the wall, which maybe helps. Also, the sound quality on Satellite and Aerial channels are much better than coming of the connected DVD player.Another observation, the power cable is on the opposite site from all other cables (important for you cable management). I could not pair my iPhone via Bluetooth (other devices like remote controller, headphones, etc are connected OK). My Panasonic DVD Player is 5 years old and it freezes when I select HDMI cable setting on Enhanced, but the problem is solved once the setting is on Automatic. In conclusion, I had a dilemma to choose between U8N 75” and U7N 85” for the same price. I chose 7 85” and do not regret to go large.
