Carob Powder
Carob pods, also known as locust bean, are the fruit harvested from a tree native to the Mediterranean. These pods contain a sweet edible pulp that is dried, roasted and ground into a powder.
Carob Powder is often used as a cocoa powder alternative, but without the caffeine or theobromine content. With a natural sweetness, carob helps reduce the amount of sugar needed in recipes. While Carob might be substituted for Cocoa, the two are not even related! Although they are similar in color and texture, each has their own unique taste. Carob’s rich flavor can be enjoyed in “chocolate”, milkshakes, baked goods, smoothies & more!

I did ordered before a small pack and it was good now I ordered a kilo and I just put it in the bin, I think it was old, expired or they mixed with something else. No happy at all. I won’t recommend it

I researched carob powder/cocoa… it is naturally gluten free. On the package, ingredients listed in small print, it states it has gluten in this product. It isn’t made clear anywhere on the product details. I think this is misleading and as there are many people who need gluten free, perhaps it’s worth considering stating that your product has gluten added. Disappointed.

Carob power is high in natural sugar (typically 30-50%), far too sweet from me. Though promoted as a healthy alternative to coffee or cocoa, carob lacks many of the nutrients of cocoa, and (for me) lacks the flavour to make for a coffee subsitute. Carob has uses, in modest amounts, in baking. Personally though, I'm unlikely to purchase again, I will stick to a good strong decaff, pure cocoa powder, or tea.
