Love airfix kits, decent quality

Airfix has come a long way in the quality of their kits since I made them 35 years ago. This model (kit number- A01008B) was my first proper attempt after getting one the starter sets with paints included a few moths ago and decided I wanted to start making them again. The instructions are easy to follow and was quite simple to make. I think I rushed it a bit but with more experience I'll take more time and get better quality. I forgot how small 1:72 scale is, this model easily fits within my hand, maybe just my hands have grown since being a young lad because nothing else seems to have. I didn't know when I picked this kit to make that there's an interesting story to the actual plane this model is made to look like with the paint scheme. There's photos of it on the internet and just so happened to be a photo of it outside the city hall in my home town and a story about the pilot and the painted out swastika on the tail, quite interesting I thought. I think the paint scheme is too difficult for a beginner so I had to change it to a pattern I could manage. The paint scheme requires you to do a 'mottled' effect but I'm not at that skill level yet. This kit only has 1 paint scheme when they mostly come with 2 so that's why I only gave 4 stars. I did like the quality of the kit and already have purchased another Airfix kit. I think the kit is well worth it for under £10 .

Bargain at £20 for a new kit, long awaited! Well moulded , sharp decals, two versions to do, luckily, I can refer to the only real one at cosford , local to me and first saw this plane in 1971! Recommend this kit!

Einfach gehalten, passgenau, bereitet viel Freude!
Airfix excellent as always, but missing some decal detail
Airfix always produces high quality models. My only complaint is that the decals are not accurate. Only the crosses are included for the wings; missing the accurate tail markings
It could be better!
I have tried other models from Airfix and where superior quality, this BF110 model is not at the same level. A lot of excess plastic.
