The size is perfect for my needs and is compatible with any sats drive but you will need to screw in a SSD.
5.0 out of 5 stars works great.
I seemed to have accumulated a number of multi TB HDD's over the years. Seemed a waste to just leave them in a drawer. I have tried USB caddies in the past but they seem a bit cheap and cheerful and eventually I seem to get issues. So I purchased this device as it looked more robust. Works great. Performance is good and I like the hot-swap feature. No issues at all. So good I purchased another.
4.0 out of 5 stars RAID-1 could be improved
The DAS RAID-1 mode does not offer 2x read speed, which seems to me that it is reading off one of the disk only. A bit shame. No obvious vendor lock-in to my eye, I can just pull one of the drive out and then read it in another device. For improved read performance, switch to SINGLE mode and make a soft-raid 1; maybe swap one of the disk to SSD will help the read speed. For siplicity, compatibility and portability, use the RAID-1 mode from this DAS.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good product
Silent, compact and much faster than previous hdd enclosures I had in the past. I could reach easily 120-130 MB/s compared to 70-80 with an 8-bay USB 3.1.
1.0 out of 5 stars Garbage. Unfit for purpose.
Had it for two hours before boxing it back up and starting a return. If you try to access a large chunk of data in one go (such as moving a large folder), the entire NAS will disappear from the system and won’t appear until you reboot it.It doesn’t even function at its most basic level, which is a file storage system.
5.0 out of 5 stars This unit is quiet! used for Plex and Mac mini server
I spent hours researching the right DAS, my needs were somthing to attach to my Mac mini M1 that I use as a Plex server, I read some bad reviews on this unit and decided to buy the Sabrent one instead! but... The sorbent one really is loud! so round we could hear it outside the cupboard it sits in. So decided to try this Terramaster D4 320, honestly its night and day, the D4 is super quite and has stayed attached with no issues so far. I use a 16TB Seagate Ironwolf pro and 2 x 8TB seagate barracudas, these all had data on them in EXFAT format, they plugged in and no data lost. I did have a 2tb WD Blue but I don't think it's supported? all in all a really good product and hopefully one that will last.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice device which works well
This is a really good device. I fitted four large SATA 3.5in discs and it booted up immediately. It has the advantage over some other devices of this type in that it shuts the discs down into sleep mode when not in use and turns off when the computer shuts down, so reducing electricity use. I would certainly recommend to anyone wanting to use their older discs.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not compatible with Windows Server 2019 storage pooling
Bought this for my husband and he wrote this review in case it is useful to anyone:I bought one of these to use in SINGLE mode attached to a Windows Server 2019 machine, with a view to using the Windows Server storage pooling feature to get it working as a simple RAID array. I didn't get it to work in that mode.First off, I attached it to a Windows 10 Pro machine and set it up using the Storage Spaces feature. I put four disks of various sizes in the enclosure - two disks of 2 Tb each, one of 1 Tb and one of 250 Gb. They all showed up properly in Explorer and Disk Manager, and when adding to the Storage Space I had defined, and I was able to add them to the space correctly without trouble. The resulting combined volume size was as expected. All seemed to be well at that point.I then transferred the TerraMaster to the Windows Server. My first observation was that the Windows Server didn't recognise the Storage Space set-up it inherited from Windows 10 Pro at all. Quite the contrary - the fact that the disks were now initialised prevented them from being recognised as part of the Primordial Pool, which is where Windows Server needs them to show up before it allows you to allocate them to a user-defined storage pool.So I reinitialised all the drives in the enclosure and started again from clean. I created a Windows Server 2019 storage pool of my own. The next step would be to add a physical disk to it. Only one of the four physical disks in the TerraMaster appeared as belonging to the Primordial Pool. I would have expected all four to be shown in that list. Anyway, I allocated the one visible disk to my storage pool. So far so good. Another physical disk appeared in the Primordial Pool. I have no idea why it had not been visible there to start with, nor why the remaining two were still not visible. I attempted to add the one visible disk to my storage pool, which would have made two disks in the pool, but Windows Server wouldn't do it - "One or more physical disks are not supported by this operation".So I am stuck with a storage pool which contains only one physical disk. Not only does this leave me short of a lot of the disk space I expected (and needed) to have, it means that I couldn't create a virtual disk within that storage pool, because Windows Server requires at least two physical disks per virtual disk.I looked up various forums and found suggestions: reseating the disks in the enclosure, restarting the server, making sure the disks were properly reset, and changing driver options to make this USB device "feel" less removeable to Windows Server. But nothing I found made any difference. This device is not listed in the Windows Server Catalog, which, while not being definitive, suggests that it isn't compatible.TL;DRThis item is suitable for use in SINGLE mode with Windows Pro 10 or Windows Server 2019. It is suitable for use as a RAID array using Windows 10 Pro's Storage Spaces feature. It is not suitable for use as a RAID array using Windows Server 2019's storage pooling.Sent it back for a refund.I didn't use it for long enough to comment on noise levels, heating or other operational characteristics, beyond saying that I didn't notice anything untoward. The appearance of the device is appealing to me, and it felt solid to handle and use.
Funziona, conveniente e pratico.
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Non solo è praticissimo per chi deve avere a che fare con tanti HD, "swapping" veloce, USB C e tutto il resto, comodo da morire.

Sehr gute Verarbeitung, sehr leise.
Works surprisingly well for a Terramaster product
Works better than expected, no issues with disconnects. The internal timeout for putting the disks to sleep is a bit short, and it doesn't support passing thru the SMART status of drives (bizarrely, as most people will probably RAID a few and want to know).Solid and works, I don't hate it.
