My chess set had problems and when I contacted customer service they responded extremely quickly and in a very friendly and collaborative manner. At first they tried to resolve the issue remotely, and when this did not work they readily replaced the faulty unit within 1 week. I am now enjoying a very well-made, high quality chess computer - even though it regularly beats me.

My daughter loves it. Got it for her to practice chess. It's good for any level of players. Easy to setup, the system guides you through it. The pieces are very good quality. A bit expensive but it's worth it.

Th electronic chess board blends classic design. It maintains portability with the magnetic pieces. It allows doing puzzles and going against bots, making new players able to practice.

I am a very basic learner, couldn’t remember the chess pieces moves. I’m getting there now. It’s a basic set of pieces, Probably a bit expensive for what it is.

This is a great product for learning chess. The quality is excellent and it's beautifully made. My child has just started learning chess in the school's chess club, and this product is very helpful for practicing at home. He loves it.

This product doesn’t work. It doesn’t recognise pieces on the board and won’t accept legal moves. I‘ve tried to return it to Bolo who say the return window is closed when it should still be open. The bot sends queries in circles and it’s impossible to speak to someone to get things resolved. Dreadful service.

This is a great quality electronic chess. Both the board and pieces are well made, and the strength of the magnet prevents the pieces falling or sliding, yet not too strong as the still have smooth movements.To begin with it takes a while to understand the buttons and working of the unit, but all the instructions are there so it's easy to learn. You are able to either play against the computer, or play with a friend.The variation of levels for all abilities is one of the great functions. I have no chess experience, so my son has been learning through playing against the computer with this at beginners level. It shows easily through the use of light up squares which moves are available, and which moves would cost you the game! And it has the very handy function of being able to rewind the game by as many moves as you like, which is great for learning.We haven't used the higher levels yet, but it's good to know that they are there should we ever reach that level!The rechargeable battery is long lasting too, we haven't had to re-charge it yet after many goes.This is a great value, good quality, electronic chess set, with excellent guidance and a great aesthetic.

It is an interesting electronic chess, I bought it for my kids who started playing chess recently. This electronic chess is easy to use, with different modes and you can select the specific modes you like, it is better for kids to practice chess with me. In addition, it is light and we can take it with us to play outside while hiking or something else. Good to have it.

A few potential changes could make it better

Theres a few things that make this product a bit obtuse. First and foremost is when youre playing match mode, a bright blue light keeps flashing. Trying to concentrate, i have no idea why anyone thought this was a good idea..Second off, the pieces (namely bishop and pawn) look too similar. With the modeling they use, a few times ive mistaken one for the other. Especially with glass pieces which are somewhat seethrough.Made a mistake? Sometimes the game makes a mistake for you and forces you to move to a spot you didnt want. Not in a check mate kind of way, but it somewhat glitches out. Happened to me twice in 4 games. You may think hitting the button that goes back to the previous move is the answer, but youd be wrong! Trying to use the back button is a nightmare. Constantly blurting the "err-err" as youve pressed a button that wont let you do what you want.As well, trying to choose a difficulty level is ridiculous. Instead of saying "level 1... level 2" which the manual tells you the ELO rating for those, or displaying highlighted squares for you to see "okay 3 squares, level 3" it kind of does this but level 10 youll have squares all over the board, sometimes under pieces. Its making choosing a level more difficult than it needs to be.The size is a bit big for carry. I get it, its a computer, so I cant complain there. But it feels like if I put it in my bag to take anywhere and its not in its way-too-oversized box then itll get crushed. Thats just the feel, mind you. It might actually be very sturdy.Unfortunately i reeaaally wanted to like this board but im having a hard time. On the plus side its a usb charging so theres that. And its a chess board so there's kudos. The board certainly will take you to 1700 ELO. The difficulty level is no joke! But its so uncomfortable to play that its just not great yet.The company did reply back to me and so I am updating the review. I appreciate food customer service and they definitely are prompt.
