Perfect for sourdough! The glass jar is sturdy, easy to clean, and just the right size for my starter. The thermometer is a great bonus—it helps me keep the temperature consistent, which has made a big difference in how active my starter is. I’m new to sourdough but this has made the whole process much easier. Great value and really handy! The glass is very strong too, dropped it and didn’t shatter into a million pieces

Overall it is a good set. Glass jar is what I would expect. Mine was chipped on arrival but that had to happen before it was packaged as there was no glass in the box. Fortunately nothing serious and a bit of sandpaper helped with smoothing the edges where the chip was.Lid is very soft, feels cheap and the sealing insert is not cut to size. Its not an issue since its not falling out.Cotton jar cover is fine.Band with the days/time is material/rubber similar to the ones one can find in clothing with a printout on the top. I would prefer it to be silicone as the included one will likely wear out faster and it is more difficult to clean if gets dirty.Temperature strip is ok. Mine is missing 19 degrees - starts with 18 and goes directly to 20 but unless one would specifically need it - its not an issue.Included spatula seems to be a knife like object coated in rubber which hopefully means it will last.To summarise:- Quality is ok. Noting superb and clearly quality control is lacking on key items (jar, lid)- Product flaws, in my case, does not impact product usability- There are very similar products on Bolo for few quid less - I would recommend buying them as likely experience will be exactly the same but for less.

Great little ‘starter’ kit! Jarvis just the right size for the fridge and jar markings and band makes it easy to keep track of when you last fed the starter. Bought one for my Dad too to get him into sourdough

Item was ok. The jar itself shattered when I was screwing the lid on after a couple of weeks - this may be due to my heavy handling. The stirrer is great and is perfect for feeding the starter every day.

Ich backe ja noch nicht so lange Sauerteigbrot, aber dieses Teil hat mir das Leben echt leichter gemacht.Was ich richtig cool findeDas FütterungsbandAbsolut genial! Ich vergesse ständig, wann ich meinen Sauerteig zuletzt gefüttert habe. Mit dem Band kann ich's einfach aufschreiben und muss nicht mehr raten.Das ThermometerEcht praktisch! Ich wusste vorher nie so genau, ob mein Teig die richtige Temperatur hat. Jetzt kann ich's einfach messen und meine Brote werden viel besser.Sieht auch noch gut ausDer Glasbehälter ist echt stabil und sieht in meiner Küche richtig schick aus. Mit dem Stoffbezug und dem Metalldeckel fühlt sich mein Sauerteig pudelwohl - und ich mich auch!Mein FazitEgal ob du Anfänger bist wie ich oder schon ewig Brot backst - dieses Set ist echt gold wert. Great set for the starters! I recently was gifted starter and wanted a jar that I could easily measure. Great value for the price. Comes with a lidded jar, temperature strip, scraper, measure tape and instruction card. Glass jar is sturdy and the lid fits easily. Happy to have a 2nd jar for my sourdough needs.

This is, in fact, my second additional purchase through Bolo of a Sourdough Starter kit, and my FIRST from ZUNMIAL. Truth be told I own four Sourdough Jars, each from a different manufacturer, and THIS ONE is the most satisfying to date. What sets Zunmial apart immediately, is the quality of the kit.Especially, the breathable, fabric jar cover. OUTSTANDING design, materials, and construction, are evident right out of the box. Of the four manufactured jar kits I own, the first had a cloth cover that was poorly made, and only lasted a couple of months. Two others used barely enough fabric and elastic gathered so tightly to fit the top of the jar, that getting a proper fit is a chore in itself.Gladly, ZUNMIAL understands that securing a cloth cover into place should NOT be a complicated task because a manufacturer is so predisposed in costs, materials, and quality of components, customers are left to wrestle an ill-fitting cloth cover in place.The material is woven from heavier gauge fibers, which outclass so many other kits with higher asking prices.The silicone jar spatula is very well made and very consistent quality among other competitors. The glass jar is a heavier grade, durable, and made for years of reliability. The temperature sticker exhibits solid adhesive properties, easily legible and reliable.The elastic fabric day/time/level feeding indicator is easy to understand, and very useful. The metal lid also secures quickly and conveniently.I paid twice as much for the Sourdough Starter Kit I ordered previous to this, but hands down, the ZUNMIAL Sourdough Starter Kit offers GREAT Quality, Value, and Reliability whether for home use, traveling, or as a gift.The ONLY upgrade I believe would make this kit markedly better would be a longer spatula. Depending on the consistency of your sourdough starter and the size of your hands (I am a male with hands that don't always cooperate with me), you may find yourself needing a bit more leverage than the standard 9.5-inch silicone jar spatula to make quick, efficient use of your effort in stirring ingredients together.Great Product!!!
