It is VERY shimmery, maybe a tad too much. Use sparingly to avoid looking like a Christmas decoration. I played with the amounts and have realised that two very small dots on each cheek bone (after wiping away excess) gives more than enough shine!

This is a handy travel size/handbag sized bottle of highlighter.On applying over makeup it adds a nice soft sheen. Ideal for adding a touch of lift to cheekbones.There is no weight in the product, it smooths on easily.There is no smell.A little goes a long way - so this bottle should last a while.The bottle has an easy to open top with an attached applicator sponge.A makeup bag essential.

The applicator tip is flat, which creates the ideal circular dot when tapped on the skin. This allowed for greater control as each one came out looking the same. The recommendation is 1-2 dots. I found one was too subtle and was very hit or miss as to whether it caught in the light. Two dots were definitely better and it still had a gentle appearance. In other words, you're not going to be blinded by this highlighter, but it has a lovely shimmer in the right lighting.The instructions state to use my finger, so I would dab it out across my cheek bone. I found it spread faster than it blended. As a result, I was having to use a clean finger to rub at the edges to either remove some of it, or blend the harsher lines. I did notice that a couple of hours after applying to bare skin, that it looked a little patchy. Although this was only noticeable up close. Also, it wore away over the early hours. On top of foundation and blush, the highlighter held well and lasted, with no patchiness.
