Considering getting a second for travelling
4.0 out of 5 stars Not without its issues - But still a fantastic add-on to your setup
This Razer 14 port hub has completely redefined my workflow, no longer am I switching out external SSDs or attaching slower SD card readers. Everything is in one place when I need it.The biggest and by far best advantage is the ability to now edit directly from an external SSD drive. Gone is the necessity to copy files from the drive to the laptop. Just plug it in and start editing. It’s such a clean setup and way to do things.OK, I would have liked to have seen 2 x HDMI, but a simple DisplayPort to HDMI adapter works well to allow both monitors to be used at the same time. The Razer 14 port hub isn't without its issues. I guess the same could be said for any type of hub. With everything plugged in at the back, it does tend to be slightly 'floaty' on the desk, meaning you have to hold it down when connecting or disconnecting anything from the ports, which is surprising, as it’s not a lightweight item, and construction overall is exceptional. The biggest kicker for me is the power supply. It’s huge and there is just no way to hide it anywhere. Whilst this may not be an issue to many, if you have a nice minimal cable set-up, it’s going to really upset your Zen. A price you have to pay for the convenience of having everything powered from a single hub.Again, I'm guessing from gameplay that the 1Gb ethernet will more than enough. However, if like me you edit and upload to various platforms with a 2000Mbps Symmetrical line, then it really doesn't provide much use.Everything said, the positives still outweigh the negatives. I wouldn't be without it now. It really has simplified my workflow, and I think it’s a great addition to my setup.Overall, the look, construction, and availability of ports exceed most of what any editor or gamer should require. Very pleased with the product and highly recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent powered dock, with a multitude of port options, high price though
Having a laptop is fine if you don't need many ports, however if you do, then you need an external dock and this dock from Razer has enough ports and options to fill every need you will have. From the moment you open the box you know you are getting a quality product. Everything in the box is made to fit with minimum space lost, and it looks amazing. The dock has 5 USB A ports that are USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 backwards compatible, plus 3 USB C ports. In addition to this are 1 HDMI port, 1 Display port, an ethernet port, SD card and Micro SD card slots and a headphone socket. There is also a power button on one end (note its position as I didn't see it and thought the dock didn't work. There is also a supplied 180w charger to help power the dock, provide power to your laptop and keep devices running with straining the laptop/pc ports that provide power to other docks. In use, well it was taken every device that I have thrown at it with no problems and has worked flawlessly. I currently have all 5 usb ports in use, plus 1 USB C port (mouse, keyboard, webcam, RGB lighting, phone charger) and it has not skipped a beat.I will say that I think the price is exceptionally high for what is in essence an external USB hub, and a cursory browse on Bolo shows a multitude of powered hubs at a tenth of the price of this Razer hub "however" Razer is a phenomenal brand, with outstanding build quality and quality control so you know that you are getting the best product you can buy. In fact, the only thing that I think is missing from this is a batch of RGB lighting to brighten up the case a bit, but either way it still looks great in jet black colour scheme.Overall, this is an excellent offering for an external hub, with outstanding build quality, and performance, albeit at a premium price (and you get stickers)
5.0 out of 5 stars Solid dock for gaming and multitasking
This dock has made my setup a lot more manageable. With 14 ports, I can finally stop constantly unplugging and swapping devices. I’ve been using it for my gaming PC and laptop, and it handles everything smoothly, from running dual monitors to keeping all my peripherals connected. The dual display support has been great—I’ve got my main gaming monitor hooked up via DisplayPort and a second screen for chat, guides, and general browsing. No issues with performance, and everything runs as expected. The Gigabit Ethernet port has also been a nice upgrade over Wi-Fi, especially for online games where a stable connection makes a big difference. There are plenty of USB ports, which is really useful when running a mechanical keyboard, gaming mouse, external SSD, and charging a controller all at once. The dock handles it without any noticeable lag or power issues. The USB-C ports are also handy for fast charging my phone while I play. One thing I appreciate is how much cleaner my desk looks. Instead of cables running everywhere, everything feeds into the dock, which helps keep things more organised. The build quality feels solid, and it doesn’t take up much space. The audio output has been a nice surprise—it’s clean and clear with no interference or distortion. Whether using speakers or headphones, the sound quality holds up well, making it great for gaming, calls, or listening to music while working. It’s probably not a replacement for a dedicated audio interface, but for a dock, it does a great job.Overall, it’s a good dock if you’ve got a lot of devices to manage. It’s not cheap, but if you need something that can handle gaming and productivity without fuss, it does the job well.
1.0 out of 5 stars Too complicated to set up and work.
It doesn't work... or I'm stupid.. either way it's not straight forward.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fast and functional dock
This dock is excellent. I got it to replace a CalDigit one that I have had on my MacBook for a few years and it's a real step-up in performance and connectivity. It's easy to connect, nice and compact and because technology has moved on so quickly it represents much better value than my original one.
Un chargeur de qualité, un peu cher, mais pas de regrets
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Il y a des chargeurs moins cher.
Comes with a usb c cable
The charger is charging my laptop during 3d work, but my razer blade keeps telling me that power feed is too low...for that I deduct 0,5 star and another 0,5 star for making me go to the razer webshop to find out that they provide a usb c cable in the package.
Muy buen dock
Excelentes acabados y buenas transferencias.Para cargar portátiles hace falta conectarlo a la corriente con un adaptador no incluido.Es caro, pero con alguna ofertilla merece mucho la pena.
