Having had a DVR with a hard drive which packed up I got a similaar looking one from another maker. This one, however, I simply could not get to link to our internet (even with the help of people more tech savvy than me) and eventually returned it for a refund (which I received quickly).This Annke is in a different league! It is small and (not having a spinning hard drive) unobtrusive, makes no noise from any fan and connected easily via an HDMI cable into our TV with all 8 Annke cameras displaying without problem. I did have difficulty linking in with the Annke vision, but the online support was great - I realised that I was misreading the Access security code. I am really impressed with this machine and with the help that is at hand should the customer need it.The kit comes with the small-looking recorder, a power cable, a mouse with a cord long enough to be useful, an ethernet cable, an HDMI cable, and (most importan) an instruction book. I am delighted with this purchase.

I was surprised just how small this dvr was, considerably smaller than my last/standard size dvr and has 1TB storage. I've had several Annke products before and found them to be better than the previous brands that I've had over the years and with a far better app, so I try to stick to Annke now. I have a mix of cameras on my house including a couple of very old ones and this dvr supports them all. The setup takes a bit of time but is straightforward if you follow the screen prompts, I didn’t need the manual which comes with it. I was a bit unsure about the connection status showing offline on the app (Annke Vision) setup screen, thinking it meant the dvr wasn't connected to the Internet but this actually refers to the mobile app connection and switches to online once the mobile app connection is complete with the verification code typed in. The normal motion detection works well though I prefer the smart detection instead; it has a line cross feature which is very precise and can be used simultaneously with "intruder detection " on a drawn area, which is basically another name for motion detection. The detection events can be sent as push alerts to the app and the playback screen also marks motion events with a red line on the timeline bar. This is an excellent product.

Works fine, but oh, the instruction sheet is almost impossible to read.All they have done is to re-print screenshots of the setup, which are so dark.

Did not connect to Foscam cameras, it said it would, very difficult to follow instructions complicated app. Incredibly disappointing as I put a lot of effort into research.

Only have this a few days but really impressed. Bought a dvr box from Bolo a few years back and it didnt last long. Bought another one which was faulty and finally got this one which is very impressive.

As headline, excellent recorder but the instruction manual pictures are VERY dark so impossible to follow.The online manual is just the same.

After having two other dvrs turn up faulty I gave up on my old brand and tried Annke and glad I did! Easy to set up and also to get the mobile working! So far I highly recommend 👌
