If you are looking for an effective and thorough review of how to become a pilot and have countless references for further reading, this book is for you. My son wanted to become a pilot since he could walk, and we read the book together. Having spent months researching different avenues and training options in the UK, I found this book to significantly consolidate relevant information. It is easy to read, and Captain Sam provides first-hand experience of the journey to becoming a pilot and especially demystifying the lifestyle of being a pilot - it is not as glamorous as it looks, and you have to be a passion for flying while being consistent with the not so exciting day to day tasks. There are some superb comparisons between different training routes and airlines and even differences between UK and US-based licenses. There is also advice on how to hone your CV/resume for selection and what to expect during the selection process while providing some great tips for differentiating yourself. There is much more, and this book is a must-have if you want all the correct information in one place!

As I've been researching and planning my own journey into this field, this book has been the perfect companion. The author presents the information clearly, breaking it down into manageable sections without overcomplicating things. It's well-written, easy to follow, and provides exactly what you need to know. I’d 100% recommend it, and I’m excited to read 'Airline Captain: A Day in the Life' next!

Great book for my aircraft mad teenage son who is desperate to become an airline pilot when he is old enough.One of the best things from this book is that my lad had read it without having to ask him to read daily. He couldn’t put it down once he started reading it.
