These are sold saying that they are paintable, yes you can paint them but they are certainly not big enough to actually paint anything properly on them , I suppose you could paint stripes or something without any detail as they are tiny so I would not bother wasting your money, they are completely misleading in the description of the product .Updated review I was contacted by the seller to try to rectify what happened over the size of the pebbles they offered me a refund but my son had used them in his aquarium but I explained that they had been bought for my daughter with special needs and I had bought more from a different vendor and they were very sympathetic and gave me a part refund, so if anyone else has a similar issue contact the vendor!!!!!!

I couldn't find any suitably flat and smooth stones locally so I had to resort to buying these. In so many ways they are perfect- smooth, clean, nicely shaped and it's easy to apply colour to them, whether it's sharpie or acrylic paint/ pens. But they are so expensive. It's why I gave them 4 stars-I can't argue that they were great to use, just that they are a silly price.

Love the size of these rocks for painting.Nice size and not too thick. Don't usually need to clean as already polished and clean but don't think it would take a lot to work to do so,quick wipe with a damp cloth.I think they are reasonable price and have used them before so I know the quality is good.

Perfect for painting with paint pens. Used as part of a craft activity at a Summer Festival and the children, and adults, loved turning them into ladybirds and bees!

A third of the box are under the specified size which is on the description.Not one stone is over 6cm.Very expensive for what I received!
