The DMP-BD84EB is the most compact and lightweight Panasonic Blu-ray player to date weighing in at only 0.8 kilos with a width of 245mm. Although small in size the player is still crammed with excellent features and will provide a stunning picture quality to your Blu-ray disc collection.
The BD84EB will allow direct access to your stored content when connected to your HDD external storage device, without the need for connection to a PC, Accessible content can include, video, music and photo images. (HDD must be below 2TB and files must be in NTFS and FAT 32 formats.
Access to smart features such as Twitter, Youtube and Facebook are possible when connected to your home network via an ethernet cable, the embedded web browser will allow access to the internet. The remote control also has a dedicated button for swift access to Netflix.

Really great DVD player. Played region 1 DVDs straight away with no need for me to do anything technical. I like there are buttons on the top of the player too so that if you couldn’t locate the remote you could still turn it on and play something. So few players have this. Recommend!

"MULTIREGION Blu-ray Player Compatible with Panasonic DP-UB820EBK 4K"Above title, I actually copied and pasted to here, from the description here on Bolo. To show my first point. Well, this title is deceiving as the machine is NOT a multi region blu ray player at all. But fortunately my main reason for buying this machine is to play hdr10+ content from my uhds, as my previous player is a sony upbx800m2. This sony machine of mines is in fact multi region for blu rays. But as the Panasonic one i just bought is not , yet it claimed to be in the description that it is, means I can't take my sony one out of my main set up as I originally planned. So end result... i will now need to use 2 uhd players in my main set up. The sony one purely for the American blu rays and the new Panasonic one for uhd's and hdr10+.As i am in the uk and have many scream factory releases from the US. Which are all region locked. The sony machine will need to stay as well. It is a bit of a big deal as it uses up an extra valuable input which means I need to physically unplug and swap hdmi cables round the back of my av reciever as I have many things to connect. Having one less would have meant I would not need to do this. Which would have been the case if this machine was as described.The situation for me is because I bought a new samsung and discovered that Samsung tv's don't do dolby vision, instead they do this hdr10 +. So I needed to look for a new machine which can play this hdr10+ from my uhd discs that contain this (back to the future etc). I seen this and thought great, I can then put the sony one up to the tv upstairs, with this Panasonic one being multi region for blu rays too. But sadly...the panasonic is not multi region for blu rays at all. My other disappointment there is, I didn't need a multi region dvd player (which this is) and as i was led to believe (with title) that this was a multi region blu ray player, I paid a little extra for that benefit..which does not exist with this purchase (it's not multi region for blu rays).Now that's all out of the way. It is a great machine for watching uhd's and uhd's with the hdr 10+. I found the audio to be quite amazing and the video quality is also top notch. It also has a lot more options and customisations that are not present on my sony machine.. all this is fantastic and I am very happy with these aspects of the machine.At the end of the day its a uhd player and does a brilliant job of it. In fact I am very impressed with it.But there are another 2 downsides I feel are essential to mention with this machine unfortunately. Albeit it's an hdr10+ machine. It will not stream any content in hdr10+. Like Netflix for example. It is not capable of playing back this type or any type of streaming in udr10+. Noting here that I can get hdr10+ from the netflix app on my Samsung tv but not this machine. A quick google search also told me..that it can not stream anything in hdr10+. It is not convenient for me to stream from the apps on the tv as I am not a fan of using earc.The last down side is if have USB content on a drive. It will not play any file on there in hdr or atmos. You will get dolby digital 5.1 even if you have stuff on your usb drive encoded with dolby true hd or hd master audio. You will just get dolby digital.In a nutshell this is an absolutely amazing machine for playing uhd's. Also the uhd10+ uhd discs. But for pretty much everything else it is mediocre. Clearly a machine for purely watching uhds on or if you do in fact have a dvd collection with many region discs but not blu ray.

This is my 4th attempt to replace my 15 years old Toshiba Blu-ray player. Don't seem to make them as good anymore. Plays my Blu-ray and other dvds really good. I can even play an Australian dvd I've had for ages in my wardrobe and couldn't watch. Only one minor point, doesn't automatically change picture mode for my old black and white dvds, of which I have many being an old film buff. You have to go back into the menu, my Toshiba did . I can live with this.

The best 4k player I’ve had since Samsungs stopped updates , to be fair it’s way better than them anyway so I’m glad I was forced into getting another. Panasonic are still a great make
