The pack exceeds the EN ISO 15197:2015 international standard, with the convenience of a small (54mm x 83.5mm x 19mm) and lightweight (53g with battery) meter.
We are now pleased to be able to offer this upgraded blood glucose meter and strips model, which has the following improvements:
Wider Hematocrit (HCT) range of 10-70%. This is important as it means the accuracy of the readings will not be impacted by extremes in HCT levels.
Uses GDH-flavin adenine dinucleotide (GDH-FAD) Enzymes rather than Glucose Oxidase (GOD). This increases the accuracy and consistency as the results are no longer susceptible to variations in oxygen concentration.
A much smaller blood volume is required. This meter requires just 0.5uL of blood sample. This means you can set your lancing device to a lower depth setting and avoid sore fingers.
Sleeker, more attractive design. Large screen is user-friendly for parents and elders.

Even when following the instructions perfectly and putting plenty of blood on the test strip, the monitor only offered a reading once out of 5 strips we tried. One strip might not have had enough blood, but 4 out of 5 definitely did. If it worked, it would have been easy to use and compact and useful. However since we had to use 5 strips to get one reading, meaning pricking the skin 5 times and using half of the needles and strips that come in the strip, it definitely didn't do what it's supposed to. I am returning this item due to it being faulty.

I believe I can give a reliable review of this device because I use it in conjunction with another, costing twice as much. I do this in order to verify, as far as is reasonably possible, the accuracy of the readings given by both. So far the readings I have obtained from each device have been quite closely comparable, which I find re-assuring. Like most devices of this type the initial set up is tricky, but once done it is simple to operate. It's readings are displayed clearly and quickly and it is particularly helpful that the test strips re-act to very small blood samples. This device seems to be very good value for anyone wishing to be able to get simple blood sugar readings without too much fuss.
