Right out of the box, there’s a noticeable sound improvement over the previous generation—crisper highs and a warmer, more defined low end that really shines whether you’re recording vocals or instruments. The new dynamic gain halos are a standout feature, making it super intuitive to set levels with a quick glance; they’re both practical and visually slick. On top of that, the updated software is leaps and bounds better than before—streamlined, responsive, and genuinely easy to operate, even if you’re not a tech wizard. For the price, this little red box delivers pro-level quality with a user-friendly twist. Highly recommend it!

The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (4th Gen) is an amazing audio interface for recording and songwriting. The sound quality is crystal clear, with low latency and excellent preamps that make vocals and instruments sound professional.Setup was quick and easy, and it works perfectly with my DAW. The build quality feels premium, and the USB connection is solid—no issues with stability.If you're a musician, podcaster, or home studio producer, this is an excellent investment. Highly recommended!

Important to consider as a Windows user is that if you have McAfee installed, you should use the MCPR from McAfee website to remove it from your computer BEFORE downloading the drivers for this product as it may give you the bluescreen of death and force you to do a repair of Windows.Beyond this, the product was purchased on end of year sales and is great value for money. The software bundle with this product is amazing and includes industry heavyweights like Native Instruments Massive and Antares Autotune.The interface itself is really good for a bedroom producer, songwriter and professional starting out, it has 2 inputs for mics, guitars etc. As some others mentioned there is no off button so will need removing when not in use but this is not a problem for me.The headphones are well built, they have decent sound quality although not quite at the same standard as some of the pricier studio wired headphones available. They are certainly sufficient for most entry level or beginner musicians.I have not tried this microphone just yet but it feels weighty and solid and comes with a foam pop filter and a clamp for your mic holder (need to buy a proper mic stand separately) but they provide a cardboard holder if you are short on cash.Overall very satisfied, just make sure you remove McAfee before attempting to install drivers or you may have a mini heart attack when you get blue screens and put into recovery mode. Always do your research! You can of course reinstall McAfee after the drivers are installed.

I purchased this to setup a home recording studio. The unit itself was very easy to setup and build quality is very good. It interfaces to my DAW perfectly and does produce fairly high quality audio.There are some annoying downsides which is why I cannot award 5 stars. One I consider pretty major considering this seems to be aimed at the hobbyist or as a studio practise tool.Firstly, and very annoyingly, there is no power on/off button. It can be powered from a power supply or from your computer USB port. This means the unit is always on and you cannot turn it off without disconnecting both cables. If you remove the power supply, it will still stay on via your USB connection. I cannot see cables lasting too long having to keep disconnecting and reconnecting, plus it's a complete pain.Secondly, and I think the biggest fault in this unit, the 2 x 6.35mm inputs at the back cannot have the gain changed. That would not be so bad if they had been set at a usable gain in the first place, but they are set at pro line level. This will be an issue for many as the majority of devices that the hobbyist or home user will plug in there will run at consumer line level. This means that the volume level is extremely low. Almost unusable. The only solutions to this is that you either up the volume in software or you have to purchase a line level shifter which is not cheap. This is a bad design decision by Focusrite. Earlier generations of this unit had a high/low gain setting but it has been removed in the last couple of versions. I am fortunate that I plug a mixer in there where I can adjust the gain. I almost returned the unit just because of this issue as if I was using those inputs directly, they would be of no use at all. Both my arranger keyboard and digital piano hardly register on the volume meter when plugged in directly. My mixer solves this issue but without that, I would not have been able to use this device for the purposes intended. Doing research on this, it seems to be a very common complaint from other owners.

Ya llevo unos dos meses usándolo aproximadamente y la verdad que todo funciona de maravilla al principio creí que los audífonos estaban muy apretados pero ya con el tiempo la verdad es que son bastante cómodos usando los durante horas, el micrófono igual de una calidad excelente, si no me equivoco es dinámico ya que si le subes mucho la ganancia si puede captar sonidos incluso exteriores pero la ventaja es que si lo usas muy cerca y le bajas la ganancia captas y solamente tu voz. Al principio me costó un poquito el tema de la instalación pero si no me equivoco en el cartón que tiene el micrófono ahí venían la página de la que tienes que acceder para descargar lo que se dice aparece la instalación y todo eso igual hay Videos así que todo bien. Lo recomiendo 100%

Einleitend möchte ich festhalten, dass ich mit dem Kauf sehr zufrieden bin. Mit dem Interface macht man nichts falsch und es kommt in einer sehr guten Qualität daher. Ich habe mich für das Scarlet 4i4 entschieden, da es die erste Version mit Midi-Anschlüssen ist, die ich brauche. Für den Preis ein sehr gutes Interface, und ich habe auch in keiner meiner Situationen (Online Meeting, Audio Recording) Probleme damit. Aber in folgenden Zeilen mehr.----------------------------------Einsatzgebiet----------------------------------Ich verwende das Interface sowohl für regelmäßige Video-Calls im Home-Office, und das mehrmals die Woche, aber auch für Audio-Recording von Klavier, Midi aber auch mit einem Avantone CV-12.Das Interface ist bei mir über einen USB-Switch am PC angeschlossen, wo ich zwischen Firmen-Notebook und Privat-Computer switchen kann. Auch das funktioniert ohne Probleme.Für meinen primären Einsatzzweck, wie oben genannt, verwende ich einen Windows-Computer. Für das Büro ein Notebook mit Ubuntu 22.04.----------------------------------Optik & Ersteindruck----------------------------------Ich hatte bereits vor vielen Jahren ein Focusrite Saffire Interface und ich weiß wozu Focusrite auch im günstigeren Segment in der Lage ist. Aber obwohl dieses deutlich kleiner ist als mein altes 19-Zoll Interface, ist es subjektiv nochmal besser. Gut, es liegen auch einige Jahre dazwischen, aber dennoch kostet es die Hälfte von meinem alten Interface.Die Qualität ist sehr hochwertig, das rote Gehäuse macht einen hochwertigen Eindruck und die mattschwarze Front- und Rückseite rundet das Design ab. Die Beleuchtung ist auch hervorragend und sticht auch in hellen Räumen super hervor, sodass sich die Labels, die ebenfalls beleuchtet sind, jederzeit problemlos ablesen lassen.----------------------------------Anschlüsse----------------------------------1x USB-C für Stromanschluss (optional)1x USB-C für PC-Anschluss. Das Interface verwendet aber nur USB 2.0. Es liegt ein Kabel von USB-C zu USB-A bei.2x Kombi-Input (Klinke oder XLR für Mikrofon oder Instrument) auf der Vorderseite2x 3,5mm Klinke Input auf der Rückseite4x 3,5mm Klinke Output auf der Rückseite1x Midi In/Out auf der Rückseite1x Kensington-Lock Anschluss auf der Rückseite----------------------------------Installation----------------------------------Die Installation verlief reibungslos. Zuerst habe ich das Interface am Strom angeschlossen, anschließend am Windows-PC (Windows 11 in der zum Zeitpunkt der Rezension aktuellen Version).Sofort poppt, wie ein USB-Stick, den man in den PC steckt, ein Fenster auf mit einem Link auf eine Website. Diese führt einen Schritt für Schritt durch den Installationsprozess. Obwohl ich in der IT Arbeite finde ich gerade diese Einführung sehr gut für die breite Masse geeignet, da nahezu keine tiefergehenden IT-Kenntnisse notwendig sind, um das Interface in Betrieb zu nehmen.Es wird auch ausführlich beschrieben, wie die Schritte durchzuführen sind. Teilweise sogar mit Videos gestützt. Abschließend leitet die Anleitung auf eine Seite weiter, wo man die Software-Bundles downloaden kann. Auch das ist hervorragend beschrieben.Kaum installiert wurde das Interface sofort von Windows erkannt und verwendet. Meine DAW, in dem Fall Pro Tools, hat außerdem nachdem Umstellen des Audiogeräts, mit dem Interface harmoniert und synchronisiert die Settings.----------------------------------Software----------------------------------In diesem Punkt beziehe ich mich primär auf die, für den Betrieb notwendige Focusrite Control 2. Die Software wird im Rahmen der Inbetriebnahme installiert und ist quasi die Schaltzentrale. Einstellungen, die am Interface direkt vorgenommen werden können, können auch in der Software angepasst werden.Ich kann darüber nicht nur meine Inputs steuern, sondern auch bis zu drei Mixes erstellen, die ich an unterschiedliche Ziele schicke. Zum Beispiel: Mix A -> Kopfhöhrer, Mix B -> Primäre Lautsprecher, Mix C -> Sekundäre Lautsprecher.Die mitgelieferte Software ist natürlich Geschmackssache. Sowohl Ableton Live Lite wie auch Pro Tools Artists ist eine Möglichkeit in beide Produkte reinzuschnuppern. Gerade Pro Tools ist doch ein bekannter Name in der Branche und wird besonders Übersee für viele Produktionen genutzt und kann als Artists Version, Stand heute, für rund € 10,-- pro Monat abonniert werden. Drei Monate sind im Kauf vom Interface enthalten.Die Plugins sind ebenfalls gut zu gebrauchen, und wer kein Geld für Premium Plugins ausgeben will, der bekommt ein gutes Starter-Set zumal bei beiden Programmen (Ableton und Pro Tools) ebenfalls noch Plugins dabei sind.Lediglich ein Manko, aber da weiß ich nicht ob es nicht schon alternative Wege mit einer Software-Lizenz gibt, für manche Software-Installationen braucht man einen iLok Account, und meistens bedeutet dies auch, dass man dafür einen iLok Dongle braucht. Aber letzteres muss nicht zwingend stimmen, da ich diesen bereits hatte und verwende.----------------------------------Fazit----------------------------------Für das Geld kann man mit dem Interface nichts falsch machen. Falls ihr ein verlässliches Interface sucht, das alle Stücke spielt, und euch die Anschlussmöglichkeiten reichen, dann seid ihr hier goldrichtig.Tipp: Wenn ihr kein Audio Recording betreibt, und ihr somit auf die neueste Generation der Vorverstärker verzichten könnt, schaut euch dasselbe Interface in der 3. Generation an. Das kostet 1/3 weniger, wartet dafür zusätzlich aber mit Klavierlack an der Front auf.
