After weeks of waiting got an email saying cannot do the analysis. Gave a list of potential reasons including food, medications, infections or touching the gum with swab. Offered a free retest or a partial refund (minus 50 euros). Still in communication with the company as most of the listed reasons for a failed test are not on advertisement nor do I recall them being in the literature enclosed in the test kit. Dog has since died. Will update with result. Very disappointed.

Verlässliche Abwicklung und nachvollziehbares Ergebnis
Seit einigen Monaten lebt eine Hündin aus dem Tierheim bei uns und immer wieder kam die Frage auf, was für eine Mischung verschiedener Rassen sich in Ihr befinden mögen. Äußere Erscheinung sprach sehr viel für einen Cocker Spaniel, aber die Ohren zu kurz, das Fell nicht dicht genug und auch etwas zu groß gewachsen. Ein Gordon Setter wäre auch möglich, aber dann wiederum viel zu klein gewachsen...Um "Licht ins Dunkel" zu bringen wurde dann der Entschluss gefasst, es mit einem DNA-Test zu versuchen. Der Vergleich verschiedener Anbieter am Markt und begleitender Berichte ließ aber dennoch Fragen offen - die Preisspanne unterscheidet sich teils sehr stark und manche Berichte von Hundebesitzern, die bereits Tests (bei verschiedenen Anbietern) durchführten, waren teils sehr enttäuscht und andere sehr glücklich. Am Ende kam kein eindeutiges Ergebnis und deshalb "Probieren geht über studieren".Die Auswahl für den Anbieter Koko war letztlich eine Preisfrage - der Anbieter selbst noch recht jung (?) am Markt und bisher keine wirklichen Informationen zu finden. Ein kleiner Vorteil bei Koko scheint zudem die Lagerung und Transport der Proben in einer Flüssigkeit - bei anderen Anbietern sollen die entnommen Proben erst getrocknet werden etc. was mir persönlich umständlich erschien.Die Bestellung über Bolo sowie die Lieferung der Teststäbchen samt Unterlagen für den Rückversand ging sehr flott.Die Entnahme der Probe ist recht einfach - zwei Wattestäbchen, im hinteren oberen Gaumenbereich ein paar Sekunden wischen, ab damit in das Röhrchen (mit einer Flüssigkeit schon vorbefüllt) und das ganze ein zweites Mal wiederholt. Dann ab in die Kiste für den Versand, kurz über QR-Code auf der Webseite die ID registrieren, Versandetikett erhalten und verschicken. Die Abwicklung damit ebenfalls sehr unproblematisch.Der Versand wurde per Mail bestätigt, ebenfalls der Eingang der Lieferung und 1-2 Statusmails, dass die Untersuchung läuft. Die Zeit wird mit 5-6 Wochen angegeben - bei mir waren es 34 Tage von Eingang der Proben bis zur Bereitstellung der Ergebnisse.Die Ergebnisseite ist sehr aufgeräumt und wirkt auf den ersten Blick vielleicht etwas leer. Aber wozu auch große grafische Aufmachungen oder ähnliches - am wichtigsten sind die Ergebnisse und die sind gut zu lesen. Es gibt eine Tortengrafik, die prozentual die Anteile der Rassen anzeigt (bei mir tatsächlich 59% Cocker Spaniel und ein paar weitere Rassen) und zu jeder ermittelten Rasse eine Kurzbeschreibung der Eigenheiten und Herkunft. Für mich vollkommen ausreichend und zufriedenstellend.Als weiteres gibt es noch eine Auswertung von Merkmalen - vor allem hinsichtlich Fellzeichnung etc. Brauche ich aber nicht - mir ging es nur um die Rassen.Ich bin sehr zufrieden und habe für 77€ (85€ abzüglich einer Rabattaktion) ein verständliches und nachvollziehbares Ergebnis erhalten. Die verschiedenen Rassen sind glaubhaft und nachvollziehbar. Ob ein anderer DNA-Test vergleichbare Ergebnisse bringt, kann ich nicht beurteilen - habe nur einen gemacht.
