This could be ok for you if you understand its limitations. 10X is quite a high magnification. Think: wood splinters, very small electronic SMT components or small gems. However despite lens being 21mm (3/4 inch) the actual in focus viewing field is small and the focal length is short. Also the rainbow prism effect is noticeable. In brief you need to get really up close to the subject only the centre in in focus and somethings get a colour "halo". you don't want that for gems.The rough edges on the metal are low budget indicators.Like most things from China you get a cheap case which you don't need and a card box that you will bin.If you are removing a splinter its probably fine. Otherwise, spend a little more money and get something that works.

Whether, like me you want this magnifying lens for looking a plants and wildlife or you need it for reading hallmarks on jewellery, it is well made, good quality and easy to use. It does need to be very close to the subject in order to get a well focussed image but that image may be viewed close up or from a distance. So yes the lens has a very short focal length but it is practical and easily usable. The image will also invert if while viewing from a distance you lift the lens away from the subject.It comes with its own storage box that has a cut out to fit the lens in its open position. The lens has a small loop at one end so that it may be threaded with a suitable cord and worn around the neck. Useful if you need hands free but the lens readily to hand as it were.For the price this is a definite bargain. Similar devices from the likes of Opticron would cost 5-6 times more and I am not sure that premium would be justified. It has a good sized object lens and at 10x21mm it has good magnification. It is great value and easy to recommend. Well done 'GLADFRESIT'.

Quite surprised at the choice of magnifications, as 10x would normally be considered about the highest anyone would normally want. Anything higher than that is almost impossible to make use of.So I chose the 10x and am perfectly happy with it. The metal cover is a little cheap and rough, but the lens itself is perfectly good. At this price point, it's excellent value and well worth having.

Petit accessoire très pratique à emmener partout. Je l'utilise notamment pour observer les minéraux, que ce soit en pleine sortie ou bien au chaud chez moi. Très pratique avec un excellent grossissement et une netteté qui n'est pas à discuter.Attention néanmoins : le crochet prévu pour y installer une dragonne a une mauvaise finition et est tranchant. Il a tranché ainsi deux fois le fil des dragonnes que j'y avais mis avant que je réalise ce problème de conception. Si vous voulez l'attacher, préférez donc une option résistante telle que des chaînes à billes ou même un plutôt un anneau de porte clé qu'une version souple comme le fil classique.
