If you enjoyed the recent Resident Evil games, or just like horror, tension and gore, Dead Space is a MUST have.It’s a remake of an iconic title, built from the ground up with truly stunning yet disturbing visuals. The gameplay blends brutal, heart racing encounters with intelligent, thoughtful puzzles and exploration. The audio submerges you in the claustrophobic, dank, and sometimes tragic innards of the Ishimura, with a hair raising soundtrack and a soundscape unlike any other horror game. It culminates to build an atmosphere where not a moment goes by where you’ll feel safe.It’s worth mentioning that it’s use of limited resources and satisfying upgrades and weapons, mixed with the constant threat of the truly haunting and oppressive necromorphs, makes for one of the most brutal and terrifying games on PS5/XBox Series/PC.You really won’t find many horror games that match Dead Space.

This is a great remake of the OG dead space. They added to it, but it ways that make sense and actually improve the game, unlike RE4, where the developers destroyed at the charm of the original. I'm not going to lie, I was dubious about giving Issac dialogue, as part of the appeal was the mystery of the silent protagonist, but it work. This is a must have game whether you're an old fan or a newb to the dead space realm.

Whether you’re a fan of the original or new to the franchise, you’ll very quickly come to appreciate what an amazing game this is.Often many horror/adventure games aren’t actually that scary, and while I wouldn’t say that I’m scared by the creatures, Dead Space does instill dread in the player with incredible sound design that stops you from ever getting comfortable. The sound design is not to the same level as Silent Hill (and not sure if any games to this date have matched that… if you know, you know).The combat is fun and the difficulty scaling as you play is fair, even on easy mode you’ll still find yourself fighting to conserve ammo for your favourite weapons and health. I like this as I can get bored in games that give too much to the player (looking at you, RE4). The creative team did a great job of making the player retrace their steps and revisit areas, and they’ve been very faithful to the original game with some added twists here and there.One area where I think it’s lacking is its replay-ability. When I finished the game I immediately went to replay it as I wanted to unlock more rewards but found myself getting a little bored. Maybe this was my fault for jumping straight back into it / playing it with fully upgraded weapons, but I’ll give it the benefit of doubt and pick it up again in 6 months or so. I wouldn’t let that put you off from playing the game, though.

I’ve not played any of the previous games so come to this with no real expectations. Initial update is not excessive. This review is based purely off of the first couple of hours or so of playing. Firstly graphics are outstanding it really does look good on the PS5, the storyline is not OTT and the balance between action, puzzles and exploring is spot on. I’m only 2 weapons in so far but I suspect that there will be novel dismembering bits of kit waiting to be gotten further down the road. Thoroughly enjoying so far, resident evil in space with the blood and gore turned up is probably my best comparison with games I’ve already played. In this respect this is so far better than RE village - in fact I’d go so far as to say that this is the best game I’ve played so far on the PS5.Edit - well I have now finished the game and have gone straight back in for another round to find extra suits, guns and some secret stuff. I haven’t enjoyed a game like this since Resident Evil 2 in 97 - about the highest compliment to a game that I can give.

I haven't played the original ps3 version but this remake was made good. Graphics and visuals are amazing, gameplay is smooth and the horror scenery is there. 10/10 horror game I recommend picking this up at the right price.
