Took a few listens to get into have all brandi's cd's and am a big fan ,dont believe this is as good as the highwomen release. Only track 4 not keen on . track 2 pure joni and track 8 pure kd . Brandi one of the most under rated artists for years just starting to get the recognition she and the twins deserve . Keep em coming Brandi

I wasn't sure how the band would top By The Way I Forgive You, which was pretty immaculate, but they've done it.This is their most eclectic album to date, but whilst all the songs have different identities and so the record on the whole is pretty much genre-defying, they all have the soul and tell-tale sonic DNA of Brandi and the twins running through them, so the album doesn't feel disjointed at all despite each track being entirely different from the next.I think this record will genuinely be heralded as one of the greatest albums of all time, and that it will add a good few more Grammys to their ever growing collection.A must for any music lover!

O álbum é formidável... Todo fan precisa ter.Chegou muito antes do prazo, mas veio bem amassado nos cantos e um pouco empenado.

カーライルは前作で’19年のグラミー賞を取り、アリーナクラスのアーティストへと成長した。しかし、更に前進しようとした矢先に、コロナ禍でロックダウン。一方、長年の盟友である双子兄弟の一人フィルがカーライルの妹と結婚、やはり長年チェリストして参加してきたジョシュはカーライルの妻の妹と結婚するなど、音楽制作の“ファミリー”が文字通りの「ファミリー」となった。彼らはシアトル郊外の山間にある広大な敷地の中で一緒に住み、本作の楽曲作りはその生活拠点で作られた。ナッシュヴィルのスタジオに入った彼らは、プロデューサーのデイヴ・コブとシューター・ジェニングスと共にアルバムを完成させる。静かな歌いだしから、サビの頂へと歌い上げる歌声が素晴らしい1は、いかにもカーライルらしい。本作中もっともpopで明るい2、70年代のウエスト・コースト系ロックの香りがして楽しい。コーラスが美しく、力強い。アコGのアンサンブルが美しい３に続き、本作イチの完成度の4は、70年代のカントリー・ロックが持っていたサウンド、グルーヴの手触りが見事にある。サビでの静と動の対比の中でのコード進行やBラインは、見事にモダンだ。このギャップが、楽曲にスケール感を与えている。5以降は、子供たちはじめ家族へ向けた歌であり、大半を穏やかな曲調が占める。“ママは狼人間”という風変わりなタイトルの6、芸術という特殊な世界に生きる自分と子供との間にある“埋めがたい溝”を歌っているように感じる。逆に8は子供たちが成長した時にぶつかるであろう事への励ましだ。フィルとティムのコーラスの美しさ、どこかほっとする。異色作は9。イントロから“日本昭和演歌”、本気でびっくりした。ストリングスのアレンジや演奏のキメの作りも、どこをとってもザ・演歌。さすがに最初は“引いて”しまったが、何度か聴くうちに、けっこうおどろおどろしい歌詞も相まって、“これはあり”だなと。屋外なのにどこか閉塞感を滲ませるジャケは、ケースから出して開くと全く印象が変わります。DLにはない、フィジカルの楽しさですね。歌詞付きです。1 Right On Time、2 You And Me On The Rock、3 This Time Tomorrow、4 Broken Horses、5 Letter To The Past、6 Mama Werewolf、7 When You’re Wrong、8 Stay Gentle、9 Sinners Saints And Fools、10 Throwing Good After Bad

Das ist das erste Album, das ich von Brandi Carlile gehört habe. Ich musste gleich fünf andere von ihr noch dazukaufen, weil es mir so gefallen hat! Schade, dass sie in Europa nicht so bekannt ist.
