This triple CD set serves to celebrate the musical achievements of Roxy, while illustrating perfectly the dynamic live shows they performed throughout the band’s incredible career! DISC ONE here, features Roxy Music’s 1976 concert at the Konserthuset, in Stockholm, Sweden, on 27th January 1976, while touring their Siren album, released the previous October! DISC TWO houses the group’s 1979 show, recorded at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, CA, on 21st April 1979, a month after they released Manifesto, the record that ended a four-year hiatus by Roxy, their previous release having been the aforementioned Siren! This dazzling collection is complete on DISC THREE with their May 1983 concert from NYC’s Radio City Music Hall, a full year after Roxy Music released their final album to date, Avalon, released in May ’82! Searching for a definitive Roxy Music live album showing them at their best is difficult. Viva Roxy music was the attempted obligatory live album released in the mid 70's, a good album but not a concert, just a few random tracks put out. Later various reunion concerts were released but that was 30 years after their run of superb albums. This 3 cd release goes a long way to correct this featuring the band touring Sire , Manifesto and Avalon in 1976, 1979 and 1983. Full concerts displaying the great voice of Bryan Ferry in his prime, Phil Manzanera and Andy Mackay and the great Paul Thompson. The sound is good, in an ideal world you'd want the drums mixed louder but nevertheless a valuable addition in the search for the ultimate live album. Somewhere in the vaults there must be official recordings so just needs somebody in authority to pull their digit out and do it. They did it with Ferry's Albert Hall concert recently.
